I didn't follow the video exactly. I sandwiched mine between the insert and the painted surround. This allowed me to use all the screws to hold it in place and exactly no glue. Been almost 18 months now and still strong. This approach required cutting more of the insert away and bending some parts of the grill that you cannot see. Here are a couple pics.

You can see the mesh is sandwiched at the bottom.

You can see i bent some of the grill here to cure some gap.

I've got some better head on pictures somehwere. I'd still prefer a Homer Satoshi, just waiting my turn.

That's a good idea. I'm losing some coverage into the woods from the big vertical beams on the brush bumper. Going cross eyed would fix that. Hmmmmm . . . .

How do you like those? I'm looking to install them myself but am uncertain if it's worth it yet.

Possibly. I might save this for a summer project, too busy with stuff right now... Post pics if you decide to do it soon though! I'm undecided between buying the mesh from Homer or CCG.

If I ever stop spending money on other mods I'd probably lean towards Homer. He makes nice stuff and is rather support a Taco brother than some Chinese firm mass producing cheap stuff. ;)

Well, can't give a 100% review yet since I just put them on. I can say they appear to be very good quality. Fit is perfect and install was a breeze. They look really nice installed. Based on what I've experienced so far, I'd buy them again.

I'd highly recommend a bathmat, heavy blanket or jacket hung over that strap or chain...in the unfortunate event something breaks.

    Updated:

Took the advice given by TacoEngineer310 and just mounted it straight to the tracks for security purposes. At first I didn't really want them sticking up above the side of the bed, but after I changed them... I don't think I mind. Also, added the locks for security. Had to cut the receiving hole in the boxes a little bigger and file them down nicely because I bought locks that weren't long enough. Final product:

Any1 know approx how much a auto body shop would paint just the chrome surround for? Figure it cant be that expensive. Otherwise i guess ill rattle can it with toyota paint, but id prefer the quality of an actual spray gun

You could always dip it yourself for cheap and decide if you want to make it permanent.
I'm doing that right now. Planning on giving it 3 months or so and then possibly making it permanent.
