Hi everyone, I recently bought a 2003 Tacoma in impulse pearl red. I was wanting to see if anyone noticed some things on exterior of the truck or if I have a problem. First I was wanting to know if anyone else's Tacoma in this color has orangeish door handles? Second I was wondering if anyone noticed different shades of paint from door to door on the truck when the light shines on it. It almost seems as if the paint is a little different from door to door but not too far off to where it is easily noticed. Any advice is helpful.

Post pictures and we may be able to see if it looks like some of the truck has been refinished.

Kinda hard to tell for me, from here.
It almost looks like someone painted the fender flares and door handles (did it themselves).
    Truck looks good though!

The handles definitely look non factory painted can't tell by the pictures if the flares are factory paint or not.
When I wash my impulse red 04 in the sun it looks red, red orange and almost a maroon in the shade.

If it was factory paint, it's likely that the mirrors would have been painted also. Toyota called it a color-keyed package or something like that. Grill and bumpers would also be done to match.

    Hey Steven,

I just bought the identical truck to yours. My wife and I thought the same thing when we saw the handles. The guy I purchased it from said that they are factory original but that they are made of plastic which is why the shade is slightly different. Made enough sense to me although it would be nice if they could get the shade a little closer.

Yes, it is especially noticeable on the handles. My father took a look today and noticed a difference on the hood also - I honestly think it's just the paint color, it changes looks depending on the lighting Logger said.

normal. They are factory and they are different color. Mine are exactly the same, and fender are orangeish too. If you have the color key'd grill, it will be different like the door handles as well. Have you ever seen a Camry color difference between metal and plastic? Same thing here, notice rear bumper vs body.

Nice! Mine is pretty stock right now - just bought her yesterday. Looking forward to reading up on these forums for some cool ideas!

it's the plastic that changes the color on the paint. just like the door handles, fender flares, and color keyed grill. Mine are all orange compared to the metal on the truck.
