Just look at those dog smiles. Good thing they like it, because they aren't getting in the cab.

Got my ARE MX installed yesterday. The only thing I noticed is that I can still open the tailgate with the topper closed. Not a huge deal because I can lock the tailgate. However in all of the trucks I have had in the past the topper has been able to effectively block the tailgate from opening. Does anybody else have this happen with ARE or other toppers for the 3rd gen?

Nice cap man, I just got the same one in black. Any trick to taking off the back sticker? Haven't tried yet, but it's annoyingly large.

Take it off with heat and a blade, clean up the residue with some Goo Gone.

Picked up my Leer 100XR last night with front slider window and Thule square bars on top. Love the look. Can't wait to throw the fishing gear in the back.

In addition to that the tailgate is rounded so any shell with a rear door that laps over the tailgate (most of them, if not all) won't close properly.

    What's this about decals being covered by Snugtop canopies?20160310_172708-1-1.jpg 20160310_172639-1.jpg 20160310_172607-1.jpg 20160310_172536.jpg

Oh, and a note about the rear door/tailgate matchup for weather protection on the SNUGTOP/ 2016 Tacoma .....
Over the past week, we've had over 7" of rain here on the Pacific North Coast, much of it heavy driving rain, and with the truck both sitting as well as being driven in it, the interior of the bed of the truck/canopy has remained absolutely dry. That means No Leaks. That includes the front drop down window/slider as well as the match-line around the top, sides and bottom of the rear door. The interior of the canopy is lined with the indoor/outdoor carpeting.

And if there are questions about the door/tailgate overlap not allowing the closure to be true, it works just fine. In fact the overlap is abundant. This has to do with canopies designed for the 3rd Gen Tacoma, not canopies designed for 2nd Gen Tacoma's put on 3rd Gen.

Just incase anyone is interested in this information.

I just picked up a used (yes!) DCSB with an ARE Z Series already mounted up by the PO. Color match (silver) and general fit and finish are good. Installation wasn't great though ... wiring to the lights and keyless remote latch was pretty sloppy. I spent a few hours with spiral wrap and cable clips today cleaning that up. And it's leaking at both front corners; looks like the installer used 1/2" wide and about 1/8" thick foam tape and no sealant in the Toyota bed gaps. However the size of the rear opening, hinge location, and slope of the rear window really encroach on the already limited volume inside the short bed. So I stopped by our local camper shop to look at mid-height alternatives. They sell Leer and Snugtop and his opinion of ARE wasn't too favorable; he recommended Snugtop's Sport HiLiner over the Leer 180 due to its frameless rear window. Any opinions on that? Here's picture of Z Series still at the dealer before I signed my life away. Note good clearance to stickers, though I'll probably remove mine anyway. By the way, the keyless remote feature (uses truck key fob) is great. Why Toyota requires a separate key for the tailgate is beyond me.
