Makes me miss my 99. It had that same shot when I got it. What are the switches for?

IMO, unless a bumper is designed as a swingout in the first place, it will have difficulty with the leverage the swingout arm can place on it.

In regards to the all pro bumper, where do you suspect the troubled spots would be? Is it as simple as beefing up the platform for a swingout, or would it require more work than its worth?

It's about the mount to the frame itself. You don't want any flex in the bumper when the swing out is opened. The bumper itself should be strong enough, since it's going to bounce off trees and rocks anyway.

Mine was never designed for a swingout, but I don't think it will be a problem to fab something up, since the actual mount to the frame is well done.

I'm just weighing my options right now. I would love to do high clearance with a swing out, but wanted to entertain the idea of fabbing one up for a tube bumper.

What bumper do you have, Brett?

The right switch is for my 30" light bar mounted on the roof rack, and the left is for aux lighting up front. I messed up and tried to fit a third switch in between. There wasn't enough of a gap between the other two, so I had an unsightly hole in my panel that is now covered.

About to do this to mine! Except going with a white carbon fiber. How tricky was it?

To be honest it took a lot longer than I would have liked haha. It took about 2 1/2 hours to do both control panels, the dash face thing, and both of the plastic covers on the side of the seats. I would strongly recommend a heat gun, it makes it easier to manipulate the material without causing creases.

It might require a lot of work. But I have never seen the bumper your are referring to up close so I really can't comment on it directly. Whether you can do this or not will also depend on how much weight/leverage you will be applying to the pivot.

I can only speak about my experiences which is in helping to build my plate bumper.

Structurally, mine is very, very stout by design. We did this so the bumper itself will not flex when the swingout arm is open. For the most part, the design was successful but the arm itself does still flex some and the main plate the spindle is mounted to does 'creek' a bit when the arm is swung out and the full weight of a 33 and steel wheel and 10 gallons of gas are on it.

Pics and more details about the bumper build:
