Shot the ProLink about 15 feet through an intersection in downtown Charleston when the line finally snapped. It was an Engo 10000S. I'd put the disconnect switch vs. the breaker since the winch can pull more than the breaker is rated for.

Dang!! Yea the deal with the breaker is you will overload it before it pops, so according to that article from ComeUp you don't need a 400amp breaker but you need one that can handle 400amps for a period of time. So for me at 300 amps max a Bussmann or MP brand breaker at 175amps should be good for about 30secs.

That's really good info as I'd rather have a breaker than a cut off. I wonder if Blue Sea has one that'll work... Thanks for the link!

It's not just a Southern thing. There's a diner around here that has what they call 'skillet meals' that are about 1lb of home fries smothered with your choice of bacon, sausage, or corned beef hash. Then they throw 4 eggs (cooked to your choice) on top of that and sprinkle melted cheese on top of that. They bring it to you in a cast-iron skillet right out of the oven and it's delicious. But, it's also a solid 2lbs of food, and most of it's grease. After you eat it you want to take a nap, and then make a bathroom run as soon as you wake up.
