This is an issue too many of us have heard about, and way too many of us have been victims of....

I have an '04 Tacoma that I recently went to trade in on a 2016, and was told that the frame is badly rusted, and they will not take it in trade. As was the case with many of us, I was never contacted by Toyota about the rust-proofing program that covered these trucks by Toyota Motor Corporation, nor was I told about it when I had the truck at the dealership for service during the time the rust-proofing program was in effect. As has happened with many of us, I am left with an unsaleable truck due to Toyota Motor Corporation's unfair treatment of the owners of Toyota vehicles.

I will not stand still and let them get away with this and neither should you!

If you have been affected as have so many others, then let's use our combined resources to strike back at Toyota. Lets get as many of us together as we can, let's initiate legal action against Toyota Motor Corporation. Let's get the mass media involved. Let's get the Attorneys General in the states where this occurred involved.

If you have been a victim of Toyota Motor Corporation's negligent and unethical treatment of it's customers, then contact me on this site. Together we can make Toyota pay!

Does this sound like a joke to you? No, it's not a joke. Toyota has left a number of people stuck with unsaleable and unsafe trucks because of their failure to properly and comprehensively notify owners of the rust protection program that they put in place for 1995-2004 trucks. I am one of them...so...no, it is no joke. I am going to do everything possible to make sure they don't get away with it. I am starting legal action against them, I am calling various media outlets, and I will not st5op until they make it right. For me and as many others as will join in with me.

When you purchased your truck, did you do it when it was new from a dealer or from a third party? If it was from a third party did you register new ownership with Toyota so they knew where to send recall notices and important information? According to Toyota Corporate headquarters the '92 I acquired from a third party had not been registered with any of the previous owners other than the original owner until I contacted them. (Last registration was in '98 when said original owner sold it) Not sure how much a lawsuit would help when I just poked holes in the case by proving irresponsible ownership and I'm a mere engineer, not a corporate lawyer. :dancingbacon:

Regardless of whether I myself registered the truck with Toyota Motor Corporation, it was serviced by a Toyota dealership during the time-frame in which the rust-proofing program was in effect, and the dealership also failed to notify me. As the dealership is legally an agent of Toyota Motor Corporation, the legal responsibility extends to both the the dealership and TMC. This isn't according to me, but to my attorney.

The whole point here is that Toyota Motor Corporation and their dealers have acted irresponsibly in this as well as numerous other matters regarding the safety and the quality control of their products, and it is time that we, as owners got together and did something about it.

What part of the country do you live in? Perhaps an area where they salt the roads?

"as well as numerous other matters regarding the safety and the quality control of their products" come on bro, safest vehicle line on the market to date. I work for Toyota (Internet Manager at a dealership) and they actually care about safety wayyy more than other car companies...

I am unsure that they are still replacing the rusted franes for the first gens but if they are why not just get it replaced by toyota and then trade it in? It might be a waiting game but i think thats where your problem is.

I think that he tried that and was turned away and brought on this thread, unless I misread this whole debacle.
