Thanks for the warm welcome. Taking it out for a picnic with my wife and dog. It's too nice not to be outside.

Being it's our first FWD pickup, where would be a good place to go for a novice wanting to get a handle for it off road?

    *edit: 4WD

I think you meant 4WD, unless you for the first front-wheel drive model :D

Welcome! and I have been looking for places to go myself. I have found tons of places to go sink into mud or take a 4 wheeler, but no trail spot that isn't 2 hours away. Embarrassingly, I snuck behind this housing edition by my house that has a reservoir and on the sides is a storm run off with some pretty steep hills. After scaring the wife I decided to leave only to see a scary No Trespassing sign on the way out. Still fun though. I guess the real question is what part of Oklahoma are you in?

I've seen a few places like that around here too, but I haven't been that cavalier to "go for it". I'm in OKC/Edmond area, so nothing really too close that isn't private land.

That's close to where I'm at. NW OKC. I'm going to Arcadia this weekend to explore then Draper after that. There has to be some legal playgrounds somewhere that aren't commonly traveled and just mud pits.

Wife and I were out at Arcadia last weekend. Couple hills to mess around on, but we didn't get too far off the main roads around it.

Let me know how Draper turns out. Think we'll head to the Blue River next or maybe American Horse Lake. Been awhile but I seem to remember some fun trails when I was younger out there.

I always take my Jeep rock crawling in Disney, OK by Grand Lake. The trail over/around the hill there would be awesome in the Tacoma. There's also a lot of stuff to do that I don't want to do in my Tacoma but some of you may be harder on your Tacoma's than I plan on being. Rock crawling, waterfalls, etc...

Not sure. I've never been. I thought I'd explore and see what I stumbled upon. It's pretty sandy in that area (if it's anything like the bike trails.) So it might be relatively flat. Which equals boring.
