Don't get me started on Thomas haha! They are about 4 miles from my house, and I will never set foot there again.

The first time we went there, my wife and I were looking to buy a new Highlander in July 2013. We both look young, I am 5'6 and she is about 5'0, and were 24 at the time, they pretty much blew us off. We had two or three salesmen walk right buy us in the lot that obviously weren't dealing with anyone, and no one ever said a word. We drove to Continental Toyota the next day and bought it there, they were pretty good to deal with also.

The second time, was July of last year, we will call it an "incident", my only set of keys for the truck ended up at the bottom of a lake in Mazonia south of Braidwood in about 50' of water. I had to get the truck towed so I didn't really have a choice but to take it to Thomas as they were the closest. They cut and programmed a new key no problem, and while it was there I told them to do the frame inspection. I already knew what the frame looked like, and assumed it would fail, but surprisingly I got the call that it passed and just needed the undercoating. They didn't have the undercoating in stock at the time, and said they would call when it came to schedule the appt. They never called me, and at the time I was finishing the basement in my house so I really needed my truck on the weekends so I let it go. Fast forward to November of last year, I finally called them to schedule the undercoating. He told me it would have to be dropped off on a Monday morning, and when I asked about the loaner car, the guy told me they don't offer loaners for the undercoating service. I was looking at the Recall letter from Toyota while I was talking to him which clearly states that a loaner will be provided, so I told him to forget about it and hung up. The obviously didn't want the work, and at that point I didn't trust them to do it anyways.

I dropped my truck off the following week in Naperville, expecting them to do the undercoating and all would be good. They ended up doing another inspection and found a hole, they ordered the frame that day and I have been in a loaner ever since. About a month ago the Highlander I was driving was pulled out of their loaner fleet, so I have been driving a Limited 4runner which is fantastic.

Sounds about right. I had the service manager at Thomas try to explain to me how welding my sliders caused excessive rust back by the spring hangers. He started talking very condescendingly on how " did you know that welding causes a lot of heat which affects the metal..." yea no shit, but explain how welding something 5 feet away causes rust on on that section of part, he could not explain that, and just kept saying the warranty is void. They coated my frame like it was a favor and then last summer (5yrs later) i found a bunch of rust spots, I'm just going to fix them myself.

I only buy parts there if its an absolute emergency. I had a wheeling buddy that worked at a dealer in MO and it was significantly cheaper to buy parts from him and have them overnighted to me, then it was to buy them at thomas locally. He said that thomas was on the highest parts pricing tier that toyota has. I get they want to make money, but 12 bucks for an axle seal, 90 something bucks for a CV boot kit, come on....

I have started my SAS this weekend and i no longer need my all pro offroad 1st gen front tube bumper. This thing is free to a good home, its got some dents, its slightly bent (still fits fine) and needs a coat of paint pretty bad, but its FREE. I have no way to transport it so pick up only. Pm me if interested. Pics are in my sig, i cut the stinger off, but still have it if you want to weld back on. Winch not included.

Sweet! I also have the skids to go with it if hes interested in those as well. I was going to cut them up for reinforcement plating, however they are not very straight, but fit and work great. Good for skids, not good for cutting up lol.

Ive had great experiences at Thomas with both my vehicles. Did my homework before I went and bought my truck but I got a fair price.

My first Tacoma I ever had I bought from Thomas in 09.........long story short the fucktard porters put the wrong numbers that advertise the price on the windshield. I noticed this after negotiating my very best price. I pointed it out, they called in 2 mgrs in from home, they all yelled and screamed at each other for about 20 minutes in a room. I thought they were gonna come out and say we screwed up and we will knock off a few hundred bucks....nope. They came out and said they have to honor the price which was a 6000 screw up.....I said "ILL TAKE IT!!!"

I think it's fair to say I won.

Last call, anyone interested in a set of LightRacing Upper Control Arms? I should be getting my truck back either today or tomorrow. I'm asking $150 for them, you can throw new Ball Joints and Bushings in there for around $100 and have a brand new set of arms.

They're yours if you want them Joe, I could stop by the shop around lunch Friday or Monday and drop them off if that works for you.

That it would, depending on what he wanted, there wasn't any play in the Bushings or Ball joints before they were pulled off of the truck so they might be ok as is as long as the tech didn't mess them up. Either way, let me know if you want them for sure.

I just got my 2016 two weeks ago. I bought it from Elgin Toyota and live in Elgin. So far I haven't seen any other 2016s on the road.

Hey guys, found my upper/inner cv boot leaking. Any suggestions on replacing the whole cv axle or boots. Where do I buy them too? Might need help putting them in.
