    Hi,

    2013 tacoma, stock audio system...

I had an iPhone 5s connected that worked just fine. The 5s died on me last week, so I went back to my old iPhone 4s (which previously worked as well, before I bought the 5s).

Now it won't connect. I get a "Connection unsuccessful. Make sure "CAR MULTIMEDIA" is turned on and in range" error every time I try to connect. The bluetooth is activated on my phone. I see my old phone (5s) stored there in the list on the head unit.

Any ideas how to troubleshoot this?

    Not sure.
My 4S worked fine on my 2013 stock head unit though, so it's not a compatibility issue.

Yep, its weird. It worked fine before I got the 5s. Now it's not connecting all.

Delete your 5S from the list of registered devices and retry?

Delete your head unit from your device list on the 4S also.

is there actually a device list on the 4s that can be deleted? where is that stored?

EDIT: nevermind. I think you just need to click "forget this device". Now its gone. We will see if it connects later when I get back in my truck.

    Thanks!
