What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Paid it off a little over a year early! Have less than 60,000 miles on it. Good to go for a while.

 

I COMPLETELY agree about in channel looking better, I had them back in the day on my Ranger. My Tacoma has the stick on ones though and while I'm not a fan of the way they look, they seem to do the job just as well as the old AVS in channels I had back in the day. What doesn't seem to work better for you? Just wondering if I'm missing something, only have had the truck a bit over a month now.

Made my own paracord grab handle. Need to do the driver's side next.

 

How'd you attach that to the truck? Is it secure enough that a passenger can pull themselves up into the truck with it?

 

I tried a few different ways of attaching it and the only thing that felt secure was drilling into the truck with a 2.5 inch self tapping screw. Feels very sturdy now.

 

Just found my drivers side inner/upper cv boot leaking from a small tear. What do you guys reccommend? Replace whole cv axles, or boots. Which brand NAPA, Auto Zone, lookin for opinions.

I feel the stick on one's let more rain in if you use them during a rain and driving. You can have a bigger gap open with the in channel ones and not get any rain in. Compared to the stick on one's . Since they stick out a little more. Also, it's more obvious that the window is cracked open. You can see it more on the stick on. If you leave them open a little while parked. At least in my experience with them.

 

Were they easy to change out? Any special tools? My nephew works for NAPA so I get a lil discount.

Husky Liners rep saw my truck at the shop and gave me a free front and rear set. The box happened to show up while I was at the shop so I put them in.

 

Ya they are. I have the all weather floor in my truck so I didn't think they were going to work. But they have the clip holes like the stock ones so they fit great. Rear goes pretty deep under the front seat too

 

Congrats!!

Now time to trade it in on a 3rd Gen

 

I just spent half an hour prepping my grill for a coat of fresh plasti dip. Painted it then ran out to the shop to grab some tools and came back to find it on my lawn and my cat staring at it from the balcony where it had previously been

 

Bummer to hear that your cat died.

 

I have the grey ones, and love them! got them just in time for the worst snow in several years here!
