Any of you photoshop rangers out there able to 'shop the 3rd Gen TRD Pro from white to silver sky (1D6)? I am very curious what a silver sky TRD OR would look like if it was built-up as a Pro (primarily grille, lights, skid, suspension). Would very much appreciate the help.

Here are some Pro photos and some nice 3rd gen silver sky photos from the pic thread...

I take it silver is your favorite color huh? I personally like white the best...just always looks good. Curious to see what the cement looks like in person...but the white will always look cleaner.

Also haven't seen the pro in red at all, looking forward to seeing what that looks like.

Actually it isn't...but I haven't been able to convince myself that another color is better for me. Have a black 1st Gen right now, and as much as I love black, I swore 'never again' to a black truck. So much work.

I like cement color "okay", but I doubt I will be willing to pay MSRP + the Pro upcharge, when I can be patient and probably get a TRD OR this year closer to invoice price and then just build it up a bit. Probably save a few grand in pizza/beer money.

Well why not wait a few years after the pro had been out for a while, what's the rush? I'm sure your first gen has a lot of life left in it.

If you plan on buying a vehicle and having it for a long time, buy what YOU like, don't settle. I'm sure the pro will probably be like around 5kish more which in my opinion isn't that bad. If you're spending 35k whats 5k more gonna do?

If i were you I'd hold onto the first gen longer if i could then go for the pro. Heck, maybe by then it will be 4th gen haha. Or sell it and get a good deal on it, I'm sure she'd sell quickly.

Yeah, the 1st gen has been good to me, but I have had to put plenty of money into it the past few years to keep it running (clutch, axle seals, steering rack, some driveline stuff after towing, paint seems to be failing despite my OCD detail efforts, electrical issue with the airbag/seatbelt pretensioner). Very sick of replacing rear axles seals. I am using up the cab space more often now, so a swap up to a DCSB (AC right now) is in my crosshairs, and I am interested in moving up to many of the amenities the 3rd Gen has (including lots of airbags, lol).

Sure, "only 5K" more, but coming from no car payment, if I can save 5K, I will do it. Not interesting in wasting money on things I don't want (Pro badges, leather seats).

I got ya, just wondering what is the miles and year of your tacoma? All i'm saying is if really want the trd pro, then go for it. Wait for it and save money if it's something you really want. Or you can go the route i'm sure other people will go which is to get parts from the pro and put it on the off road or something to make it more capable and cheaper.

I'd personally rather just buy the pro...don't have the know how to do a lot of the parts myself or the time.

Or just get even BETTER parts than what's on the TRD Pro and make something even better for the same or less $$$. And as a Sport owner who loves the hood scoop but doesn't do any serious off-roading, I really can't see the rationale of having a hood scoop on a serious off-roading vehicle. I wouldn't want that thing blocking my vision (which it does) and not being able to see over the hood. Seems stupid to put it on the Pro. But what do I know? Like I said, I don't off-road.

Yeah, like i said there are plenty of people who enjoy doing that stuff, modding their truck, etc and have the time for it. Just not me, last thing i would want to be doing in a day off is working on a truck, I'd rather be driving it!

I agree, not a big fan of the scoop, but they have been doing it since last gen. It looks pretty cool i guess, but it just gets in the way of your view.

If it was functional that would be another story, but we both know that's not happening.

I don't think there was a problem with the view having the scoop with the last gen. The 3rd gen has a longer hood or something, which is why i think there has been complaints about that.

Drive a 3rd Gen with a scoop. Trust me, it really blocks your view. I know, I have one. Took a while to get used to. I still like how it looks though!
