Soggy Bottom

Has anyone had a problem with their floor pans filling up with water? It happened when i first got my truck but the hose for the air conditioner had fallin out of the firewall and was running inside the cab.. i checked it this time and it wasnt it but everytime it rains my passenger side floor is soaked and i cant tell where its leaking from

 

sounds like it could be a windshield seal, or maybe the cowling under the windshield has a bad spot in it. are you still under warranty??

 

Yea i t should still be under warranty.. When i bought the truck it had 3000 miles on it and it was on the used lot at a toyota dealer... It came with a 100000 mile/ 7 year warranty but who knows what the warranty covers

 

also did you notice much of a difference when you removed your secondary filter

 

i'd take it back to the dealer and see if they can find the problem.

as for my removing the sec. air filter......didnt notice much, but i can tell it breathes a little easier.

 

I had a similar problem when I took my mudflaps off, when it rained and I drove through water the driver side floor got wet. I know the problem was under the truck because if I just left the truck parked outside in the rain the driver side floor would remain dry. Anyway I put the mudflaps back on and inside never got wet again. I haven't found the source of the leak as yet but I'll keep you posted.

I just pulled the kick panel out of my truck and pulled up the carpet far as i could and the only place i can see that it could be leaking is arund the cowl..or the base of the windshield... the rubber seals at the bottom of the windshield can be pulled up a lil so that could be where its coming from... but soon as i find out ill let everyone know

 

i believe there is a TSB for that problem.. go look at the list of TSBs at the top of this page.

 

Is that normal, or should I have it looked at ?

 

I remember as a kid, my dad's '85ish Toyota pickup's AC drained inside the glove box. I thought it was pretty neat to have ice cold running water while driving down the interstate between Flagstaff and Phoenix, Arizona. The water tasted dusty, but it was cold and wet, so I drank it several times.

 

I left the bolts in but I remember when I was putting them back on I was missing a bolt (had to buy one from the hardware store), maybe that hole was the source of the leak.
