My ARE has always stayed VERY dry. Only in a carwash or if I was using my pressure washer at the rear corner seam did any water get in and then that amount was minimal. With no carpeted interior or the like, it didn't matter. I have camped in the back (the 5' bed was short, I am too) in the 2" of rain in 10 hrs and was dry.

It COULD be plumbers putty, generally used to seal around a sink drain. Remains tacky forever.

I bought this Century from a small used car lot this past weekend, it has a windoor on the drivers side, slider on the passenger side, tilt down front sliding window and a Yakima roof rack.

After 2 years of searching for a cap on CL, I have consistently seen that the caps for the first gen Tacoma were priced lower than those for a second gen.

As has been said, it is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. $800 just seems rather optimistic for a cap of unknown brand, sliding windows and for a truck that is a minimum of 12 years old.

For a point of reference: I just paid $650 for my silver Leer 2nd gen w/ windoors on both sides & factory Thule racks. Yes, it was a good deal, but far from a steal.

I'd call that a steal, same set up is a grand all day around here. As far as the 800, he's probably going to get low balled anyway so he may as well list high and still come out a little ahead.

I searched for 6 months trying to find a shell to fit my truck, finding one with the features I wanted wasn't a easy task for a access cab or a DCLB in my area. The shell I bought actually came off a 2006 DCLB. I didn't get a set of keys for the Yakima bars so until I have to find a way to get them off or find some place with a set of keys, the paint shop has to wait. I can't stand the two tone look.
How much is it costing you to have yours painted? Im planning on spending between $300-$400 for paint.

Yes they are locked. Ive done some research on it and there is a retailer about 30 minutes from me, hopefully they will have a key that will unlock them and I can get the code and order a couple of keys for them.

Well of course... The brand is actually Cattleman. But it looks just like a ranch hand.

Sorry can't help you with the side rails, I had mine done professionally since I was told it can be tricky to remove the side rails without damaging the snaps/clips that hold them in place.
