Only if you can't get the coupler to go on the front driveshaft's rear zerk fitting. It's been giving some guys hell.
Either the coupler is too big or the zerk isn't aligned with the relief cut in the yoke.
See below in the Amazon ads for what a needle tip is.

Yup, that rear zerk on the front driveshaft was a nogo for me as well. Needle tip required.
Good news is that the "clanging" racket coming from the driveline seems to have quieted down a lot since I got the rest of the joints properly greased.
    Thanks again Splitbolt!

just did mine, heres what I found and some good info.
Zerk 1 and 2 are mounted in the center of the Spicer U-Joint.
Zerk 1: front drive shaft you can rotate by hand so point the front zerk towards the top of the driver front tire, then you can get the hose onto it.
Zerk 2: again rotate to 45 degrees pointing up towards the driver side, then you can access the zerk.
Zerk 3, 4 & 5: located at one of the endcaps, you might have to move the truck a little to access, but chances are (75% chance) that you won't have to.

All mine were bone dry, 7-9 pumps to fill. Pump slowly, not sure if the plastic seal will blow off if you pump too fast. Now off to plan checking on my atf fluid level. Can't believe the dealership didn't check this after my maintenance visit.

All the dealerships think that since it is a new truck, it doesn't need it, well the techs anyway

I'm experiencing the same drive train noise when shifts and going over bumps in neutral. Want to grease my drive shaft zeros to see if it helps. Can you post the tools and grease you used? I don't have much mechanic experience. Would the dealer cover this?

no moly, lithium based. I believe moly is a thickener like lithium and aluminum. Someone will correct me if I am wrong.

They also make a thin grease gun end, that's what I have and it works.

I had no issue with that one, but the front zerk on the front driveshaft was tricky until I found the right angle, check my post higher up on where to rotate the front drive shaft zerks.

If you use lincoln #82874 needle you don't have to remove the coupler. It has a zerk under the retaining collar to snap on your coupler EBAY $15.

If someone wants to create a link for the 82874 or put it in the products dicussed thread that would be great. Sorry guys, I'm not computer literate and don't know how to do that. Thanks.
