BAMF 3rd Gen Recessed Raptor Style Grille

Just curious if there is a video up anywhere yet? I'm fairly confident I can do the work myself just wanting to know how involved it will get before I place my order.

 

Not involved at all. Two bolts and two push clips to remove the grille shell assembly, then 8 screws I believe and just gently depress the locking tabs holding the grille into place. Easy peasy

 

Sounds pretty straight forward. Really wish I had seen this before I ordered those clazzio seat covers that will be a month to ship. I'd much rather be waiting for this than those lol. I'll be ordering one of these very soon though.

Black and red for me and i dont even got a red truck!

I went back and forth with jlee in email changing my color like 30 times

But he didn't trip even suggested pink to me!

 

Jerry - sorry if I'm not picturing the grill I ordered properly. I ordered all black grill. My truck is black color code 202 I believe. Is the entire unit the same black finish? the one we saw on the white Tacoma you have already done, outside of the bezel is color matched while inside the bezel appears to be matte black. So I assume mine will be color matched glossy black 202 outside the bezel and everything inside will be standard black powder coat??

Any updates on the individuals who ordered during the sale? Any luck with the colors yet?

 

There is no bezel used with this grille insert if you order the whole grille color matched everything will be the color you choose. The pictured grille is our standard black mini texture powder coat.

Also you are not buying the surround IE the white part in the picture only the steel insert we are building.

 

No colors yet I've been pushing to get them I'm still waiting on samples from Toyota.

By the time we get the colors in we should have a ton of grilles powdered and ready for the color matched back plates.

 

OK. So if I ordered ALL black, the back plate behind the cutout "TACOMA" matches the standard black mini texture powder coat? If so that is exactly what I want.

 

Jerry, are you waiting to powder coat the standard black mini texture orders that didn't pick a back plate color as well?

 

Any chance of powder coating the bolts the color of the backplate? ??

 

Everyday I look at my truck, I do a real life mental photoshop of jerrys grill on it.

You folks found a source that has factory colormatched Toyota powdercoat colors?

 

If you select coat the whole thing color matched everything will be powder coated that color. If you want the letters to still be mini texture email me with your order number and we can bolt that one in when assembled.

No we are not as soon as we have a bunch of grilles 100% complete we will start powder coating all the black no option grilles will ship when they are done were not waiting to ship those.

We can do that but being socket head cap screws a two stage powder coat will make it very hard to get a wrench in there as it gets thick.

 

Yep custom powders only offered by us. in the next few weeks we will be offering factory matched Toyota colors all Tacoma and Tundra models. For all of our products.

 

Thats pretty cool. Colormatched factory Toyota powders...I've been looking for awhile. We've been base/clearcoating the plate portion with Dupont after the powdercoating process. Which company did you guys go with?
