What is your typical work commute like, on average, round trip.

    Poll options listed

Also, do you have a commuter car you use for this purpose, or just your truck?

My commute is currently 52 miles round trip, and I use my truck

Round trip is well under 10 miles. I walked once. Not a pedestrian friendly route.

26 miles each way, all but 4 of that on rough concrete interstate. Only 2 stop lights. Set cruise @ 70 once on interstate.

31 miles round-trip in rush-hour highway, avg speed 23 mph, so my mileage matches the EPA city rating.

Taking a hard look at the Chevy Bolt as a commuter car when it becomes available.

It's exactly a marathon one way for me... 26.2 miles. A mix of everything; 2 lane roads, interstate, hills...

Do you always commute solo just to get from Point A to Point B? Ever consider getting a more fuel efficient car for that purpose and keeping the truck for other purposes? Just curious as to others mindset when it comes to strictly commuting purposes.

~20 miles round trip depending on which way I decide to go. All back roads and city driving. No traffic in the morning. I use my Tacoma.

My commute to and from work is 0 miles...hahah...my Taco is a driveway queen...It only gets used on the weekends and towing the camper when we go on vacations...I might put 5k miles a year on it...I have a company service van that I use for work and I put on about 175 - 200 miles a day on it, usually 6 days a week...

Yes, I always commute solo. I leave home at 5:20 AM in the city that I live in and drive west to the city that I work in. I'm at work by 6:15. I am the only person at my location that lives in the city that I live in.

We used to have a 2010 Corolla that I would drive about 2-3 days a week. We traded it at 89,000 miles in 2014 for the new Generation Corolla. We hated the CVT that Toyota is putting in the new Corollas now and it actually got 3 miles less per gallon than the 2010 with 89,000 miles. We traded that in on a 2015 Rav4, which is actually what my wife wanted to begin with. My truck is my commuter and that is its purpose. I get roughly 20mpg with the Tacoma and I'm fine with that.

If I wanted a more fuel efficient car to drive to work I could just drive our 2013 Corvette Grand Sport. It gets 28.5 MPG highway.

I need to the truck for light duty stuff. Nothing heavy or towing...just need to be able to fill the bed. To get another car, even used, for commuting purposes doesn't make fiscal sense for me. I've done the math.

My Tacoma is the commuter car. Needed to retire the 250 as a work truck. I love it, but it eats too much gas. So I decided to blow $24k on a truck that got twice the MPGs XD

    Good choice :)

My round trip commute is just a few tenths over 10 miles a day. No freeway and the morning traffic is going the other direction. I don't have a single thing to complain about, just got lucky with the jobs location.
