I can't get the rod off where it attaches to the actual handle...well without breaking the little plastic clip around the little nipple. I'm trying to swap out my black handles on my 04 and put them on my 2000 to get rid of the chrome! Got the 04's off but can't get the 00's off!

Pretty easy like the other guy said. It's getting your hand behind the handle for the hardware back there. It's been a while since I done it.

You have to use a pointed screwdriver. I don't know the actual name. Put the point between the plastic clip and rod and press down. The clip should pop off. Then pull the rod back for it to come out. It's a bitch... Patients is the key.

Keep the rod pulled with some needle nosed pliers. Its easier to unclip with no tension on it.

You could use those circular 3m tape stickers and paint match them. Would be pretty flush to the fender and not really noticeable unless you were up close... but i hate my fenders holes too :(

You'd end up cutting like 2-2.5" out of the fender I think haha

Oh shit! I did it from the inside of the door. You'll have to pull the plastic to get behind it. It's been a while since I done it. Tho. You don't need no special tool just something thin and that you could wedge between the clip and rod to pop it off.

It took me like 10 minutes to figure it out, and I'm a dumb highschooler. Plus I was trying to keep my church clothes clean. Really isn't to hard.

We were just gonna weld in some metal behind the holes so the bondo would hold. Then repaint

Installed some extremely cheap 38x15.5(rear) and 38x13.5(front) Toyo Open Country's. It gives the truck a nice stance! Now I am ready to start laying out the 4 link.

Theres a whole whole video of how to pull door panel and replace handle on youtube. I have just bought handles off of eBay for like 10bucks. OEM handles are about 79 dollars.
