What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

OK I'll go throw a few bolts in it real quick

 

Once you have the holes drilled and torqued down it will pull them up toward the body.

 

How did you get your rear bumper pods off? I was trying to get them off without taking the bumper off. I took out the 3 clips on the bottom and the 2 hidden ones on the side (per side) and it began to wiggle. I couldn't find anywhere else they were connected. Do i have to remove the entire bumper? Do you have any pics of the other clips if there are any.

 

This platidip stuff is too easy and a little addictive (and I'm not talking about the fumes). I did my grill a while back and decided to do the stinking badges next.

Took of the v6 on the back with some fishing line I had laying around. Broke the string several times on a V6 emblem. Two letters! So for the "tacomas" I bought 60lb test line. Off in 30seconds on each side and didn't break once!! That is the tip of the day.

Plastidip spray painted them and used 3M double sided "molding tape". It says it's for putting that chrome strip molding on your 82 bonneville to make it look like a Cadillac. Anyway, painting was simple... Several coats, patience. Cutting tiny little pieces of double sided tape wasn't bad, but peeling off the backing from a bunch of tiny pieces was nerve racking.

Anywho, I like it. All chrome is gone off my truck and it's basically black and white with a touch of red. This last bit of "chrome to black" conversion really made a difference.

Also, not sure why I got off on the "after" cardboard so much it's the little things...

Are those in channel vent visor, rain guards doing the job? keeping the water out of the truck? windows closing properly?
Or should I be going for the stick ons visors? Looks like the stick ons stick out further.

I have in-channel AVS and they work great. Just remember to leave windows up for 24 hours after install. No issues whatsoever and a much cleaner look than the stick on types.

That's a lot lighter than I thought it would be. Going to switch from light gray to charcoal then.

 

I've got the sides bolted down tight and it is completely bottomed out against the frame on the bottom. Trust me it's as close as its gonna get to the body. I promise you! The bolt hole that uses the cross member for the drive shaft bolt hole. What did you do for that. It uses a smaller bolt than the mounting bolts and the nut I'm assuming is tacked in place because it didn't come loose. Are you supposed to knock it loose with a punch and drill that hole larger?

 

The first and third pics make it seem like there is substantial space between the slider and the doors. But the second and fourth pics look okay. Not sure if it's my perspective, picture angle, or what it is. For my family I would prefer the space you have so my wife and kids can more easily use the slider as a step but for off-road use this may cause concern.

 

I actually don't know about that bolt, I didn't install the sliders myself. I'll page @JDEMELLO again and hopefully he will be able to help you out.

 

I'm about to just run to the hardware and grab a longer grade 8 bolt to put back in that is the same thread that came out.

 

Are these seat covering replacements or covers? Wondering what most people are getting?
