I used to consider myself a fairly smart guy. I’m beginning to question that.

I purchased the VeePeak OBD2 scanner mentioned in other threads on this forum, and 2 different apps, OBD Fusion and Carista. Both apps connect to my truck just fine using WiFi. Both seem to diagnose any trouble codes (none found). But I can’t get either one to access the customizable settings (like door locks, warning buzzers, etc.). I read the on the Carista app, those are only available with an upgrade, but I can’t find anywhere in the app to buy the upgrade. OBD Fusion supposedly already has that function, but I’ll be damned if I can find it in the app.

If anyone who has this combination of tools could give me some help, I’d appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Michael

When I click on "customize", it goes into scanning mode (takes a long time to scan), and there was no option to do anything.

Really. The OEM Toyota Techstream is the way to go.

Why fool with 3rd party tools?

the only thing you need techstream on the 3rd gen is to turn off the seat belt buzzer. door locks can be customize via the driver settings within the head unit.
