Funny. Guess it didnt go through. I like the quick sand a lot and didnt think id any way get that tan from pics. I normally get gray silver or white. Like black but never again. Then I seen a inferno and loved it and went to look at it again and they had the quick sand show up and sold the inferno. I love the quick sand in person. Bought it. So if you hate the tan so did I tell I seen it. Then totally opposite feeling and loved it. But that is why we all like different Orland see all colors.

Every time I see a white truck I think it is a work truck. When I see a lifted white truck I always wonder why someone would lift a work truck ...

Hey guys, didn't read whole thread so apologies if this is already addressed elsewhere in the thread. The most likely source of your noise is the door seal, especially near the top of the A pillar. A similar noise can also be caused by the windshield, but from your descriptions it is almost certainly the door seal. Carry over problem from the 2nd gen.

Toyota issued a TSB for this on the Hilux but nothing in the US yet:

It looks like Mike our Chief Tacoma Marketer - whoops I mean Engineer - was wrong, one thing besides the seat belt buckle they carried over from the 2nd gen was the crappy door seal :)

I know I'm WAY late to this party - but I think this was the best forum post I've ever seen (1st post). Well done.

Tried to read through the thread may have missed if this has been addressed.

Will a 265 75 r16 K02 fit on the spare underneath the bed??

If you kept the stock spare and ran it with sized up tires would you blow the rear dif?

    That spare should fit fine.

I would guess the diff would be ok for a while but if it were me my 1st stop would be a tire shop.

Typically you would keep the rear tires the same side, so if you blow a rear, move a front to the back and put the spare on the front.

But yes, 265/75r16 KO2s definitely fit.

Very nice my man! I live in Surprise, AZ and just got mine two weeks ago. Is there a Tacoma club around the area?

OP shoulda bought a BlendMount and wired his radar detector to his mirror instead of ripping his dash apart...

Well, first thing that caught my attention was having 15 miles on the truck and "holding the pedal to the floor" and hitting 6000 rpm! Page 156 of the owners manual reads:
    "■Breaking in your new Toyota
To extend the life of the vehicle, observing the following precautions is recommended:
    ●For the first 200 miles (300 km):
    Avoid sudden stops.
    ●For the first 500 miles (800 km):
    Do not tow a trailer.
    ●For the first 1000 miles (1600 km):
    • Do not drive at extremely high speeds.
    • Avoid sudden acceleration.
    • Do not drive continuously in low gears.
    • Do not drive at a constant speed for extended periods."
    Nuff said.

This is the first mention I've seen for a break in period on these trucks. More needs to be posted on it. For my Subaru it was very clear not to go over 4000 rpm for the first 1000 miles.
