My first 6 speed as well. Getting used to reverse being toward me and up vs. Down and away takes some time and I will agree you don't need all 6 in most situations. Still love it though

 

Ordered a 16 Trd sport access cab 6speed. Would have gone with Trd or but no access cab mt

Same here. I love the truck so far. I can't live without the 6' bed, so Access Cab Sport was the only choice.

 

Love my new 2016 trd off-road MT. It has been getting great mpg compared to my 2015. I'd average 16mpg on the 2015 the 16 is averaging 20mpg. Second pic is of a trip doing 75mph on the interstate.

 

Have any of you guys seen the youtube video of the guy at a dealership using clutch start cancel as crawl control? Have any of you tried that?

Also is there a reason the clutch start cancel light stays while your driving?

My .02 - I had to have the manual so I ordered one. My wife wanted the automatic and I got up to leave the dealership. That was the end of that. Now I get to laugh at all the people who bought auto's and are having issues

That being said, my wife claims women pay better attention to detail and so she felt the 6 speed on our 3rd gen felt clunky when shifting... I denied it until I went in for first service. Now I can feel the difference. Not sure what they did, but toyota fixed a problem I seriously didn't think was a problem. So far no other complaints about the 6speed

 

Put black tape over the '6' on the gear map. Problem solved

Did it say they changed something on the service receipt? Maybe they greased the U joints, wishful thinking..

 

I bet they lubed the u-joints.

 

Unfortunately it doesn't look like the service ticket says anything about greasing the u-joints which is specifically asked for before handing my keys over. The service tech however DID say this would be checked and a retorquing of the flange studs and other drive line bolts would be performed.

Maybe this is listed under the first service guidelines... I'm sorry the service ticket is not of more help, I'll have a look at what the 1000km service includes. It's something like a 27 point inspection... So hopefully greasing the u-joints is included...?

 

Got 23 mpg on my first full fill up, but at varied speeds for the '16 AC, V-6, 6 speed MT. On hills/mountains that are too steep, it will drop out of cruise control, so now I know. Just shift down and engage cc again. Feels like the engine died.
