New links!! Haven't made the uppers yet. Going to have to take my time on them. Can't seem to get the right length with the bend. I always did suck at angles. Probably going to have to get my dad to help.tmp_17295-IMAG0563-1454667498.jpg

well, I had the afternoon off and decided to go ahead and try making the bent upper links. Bought a small pipe cutter, which made the job much easier. I was using a dremel with cut-off wheel. Anyway, everything went better than expected. Guess I don't need my dad's help after all!

Pulled this guy out of the storage box in the closet. Need to tweak the wheelbase a bit and finish up the front to tie the hood and the frame together nicely. I call it the SC-Exo

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
Looking for a little info from all you RC guys. I have a brushed E-maxx that my brother in law is looking to purchase off of me. I haven't even had it a year, and just don't use it. I bought it for $320 off CL. 3 sets of NiMH batteries, brand new spare body, paint, discharger for batteries, and some other misc items. The only things I've done is add 1 more set of Bias 5000 mah batteries and a new RPM shock mount. So over $400 invested. I was looking to give it to him for $300. Does that sound fair? And yes I like him for the most part ;) Thanks for any help.

Okay, I'm looking into buying an Axial Yeti, and can't for the life of me figure out what is a good battery to get. It says it needs a 2S or 3S Lipo battery, and I've read through pretty much this entire thread and many other threads online and it's honestly just too much information for a beginner to properly parse through. Can someone please give me some pointed advice that's not so overwhelming? Thank you

Are you asking about brands, or are you asking what "2S" and "3S" means?

Brands, I understand that 2S and 3S refers to the number of cells, but are there certain brands that are better for certain vehicles and whats just a solid option?

Higher mAh will equate to longer run times. Higher 'C' ratings equates to a faster energy release from the battery. These can be act on each other, too. A low C may run longer than an equivalent mAh with a higher C due to lower discharge rates.

Then there's the kV to S ratings. Generally kV times the nominal voltage of said battery will give you expected motor RPMs. 3000kV on 2s is about 24000rpm. On 3s it's about 36000rpm. Roughly. Given 4v per cell on average. A motor's RPM may be limited and the above equation end up with more RPM than is feasibly possible. Then you'll have a torquey motor that planes out fast.

I would suggest getting both a cheap 2s and a cheap 3s before you buy the good stuff. Find out which one you like better. I can tell you that the 3s will bash better and the 2s will crawl better.

When I was researching, I kept seeing Gens Ace brand come up. I ended up going with Venom hard case lipos. Haven't had any trouble with them and I like that they come with adapters for different plug types.
