When I was on one of the sites reading specs for the Indel-B TB-x1A series I remember that initial startup has to be done after sitting right side up on a level surface for 24 hrs. After that it can operate at up to a 45 degree angle in any position. I don't remember where I saw that though.

I don't have the manual handy, but you are correct that when set on high the fridge will cut off at 12.3V. I don't remember what the cutoff voltages are for the other settings. When I was testing mine, I plugged it into my house battery box (shown earlier in the thread, post 1044) and had it set for high cutoff. When I got the E1 code, I checked the battery which measured 12.3V. When I switched the fridge setting to low, it started back up. I didn't run it long enough to reach the low cutoff voltage, so I can't say definitively what it is, but I seem to remember 11.9V from the manual. I have another, smaller fridge that works the same way. The intention is to not run down a start battery too far to start the vehicle and because it affects the life of a battery if it is run down too far.

One of the advantages of a compressor fridge is that it can be run at an angle unlike absorption type fridges that you find in RVs.

My gauge, which is just a cheap usb charger as well it's plugged into the stock 12v outlet up front.

Fridge has been set on hi cutoff, and that gauge has run as low as 11.7v and fridge has still been displaying the temp, not e1 code.

So maybe i need to check voltage at the battery once or twice to see if the gauge is correct... Or if my power cutoff doesn't work.

I put mine on the medium setting and it was still going at 11.5 volts. The battery is charged back up and the fridge is now at set at 28. It will be over 90 today so we will see where things are at tonight. Fridge still on the medium setting.

I ordered and receive the ThermoWork 8100 dual temperature gauge. http://www.thermoworks.com/products/alarm/rt8100.html
It seems pretty nice. The only thing I don't like is since the probes are wired and I have a fridge slide my mounting options are limited. For now I have it velcroed to the back of the fridge just above the handle. I also have a wireless one, single zone, but really wanted to see the temp spread between the 2 areas. Wireless is cool but needs lithium ion batteries for the battery powered sensor to withstand the temps.

Yeah the reason i went with wired was i didn't feel like changing out batteries all the time and most had reviews that said i would.

I picked up some slides today to build my own custom slide. I will be removing my passenger side rear seat and mounting the fridge in its place.

I found some 26" 130lb "entertainment center slides" that will work perfect for my application. They cost me $50 CAN for the pair. I bought them locally from a place called Lee Valley. I will be utilizing the mounting plate as well as adding tie down points for ratchet straps. I went with 26" slides to add some room for tie down points on a plywood base. I have some leftover plywood from a previous project that will work. Still need to buy a bit of hardware but this slide should end up costing me under $100 CAN once I'm done building it.

Did a simple day test with the fridge plugged into the front socket. It sits on the 60% seat in back. I have some small d ring bolted to the back of the seat. Temp was 59° when I plugged it in and within 45 minutes it was down to 25°. Pretty impressive. Lid opens plenty far enough to access from the truck. I think I will eventually order the slide for it an put it in the back of the truck when I need the back seat for the dogs. Damn happy with this product. Thanks for the group buy!

One thing I learned on my last trip is that if you put frozen items on the bottom that are not in a container it really screws up the temperature sensor. This caused the temp of the "fridge" to drop so it wouldn't run thus making the rest of the fridge warmer. I moved a couple of items towards the front and placed them vertically instead of flat and that helped a great deal. I also moved my beverage crate to the bottom. The fridge then kicked on a worked fine. I really like have the remote thermometers because it makes testing different packing styles much more effective.

Built my fridge slide this weekend. Pretty happy with how it turned out. Total cost less than $100. I'll do a full write up of how I built it eventually. But for now, just some photos.

    image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Have to touch up some of the paint a bit. Also need to grab some spring nuts from work for the unistrut that is bolted to the truck to level the base and bolt it down. It holds fine unloaded right now with just the two seat hinges. Once I add some bolts into the unistrut it should be sturdy as hell.

I notices you strapped the fridge while it was on the mounting plate. Do those 3 pop mounts NOT hold the fridge tight enough?

    Awesome slide and platform BTW.

Where did you guys get he mounting plate? Was it something you ordered instead of a slide?

I did some testing last night in my truck, before I get in the middle of nowhere. I did a constant 12v power mod first. I put the fridge in place set the switch to Econo High and left it to start cooling. The battery read 12.46 at the time. I checked on it in 45 mins and it was reading E1 with my battery showing 12.24 on voltmeter.
So I brought the fridge inside plugged it into AC and ran it on max to get it down to temp. Drove the truck around to recharge my battery. Then put the fridge back in the truck already at 34 degrees and turned it to ECONO Med at 4:30 pm yesterday. When I checked it at 5am today my battery was at 12.24. The fridge was cool but not running at the time.

Again just now at 6am I checked it and found a change. Now 13.5 hours later the fridge is on and cooling/running. The battery just took a drop to 12.09. It appears to be fine for this amount of time curious when it going to shut off. Typically I think the truck would be parked for 14-16 hour periods. Looking good so far.

Edit:7am the fridge is 28 degrees and not running. The battery volts went back up to 12.30...

It was ordered with the fridge. Came attached to the bottom.

The straps were added more of as an insurance policy. The mounting plate pop mounts actually came shipped too tight. As I mentioned in an earlier post it was impossible for me to remove the plate from the fridge without unbolting it first. I loosened off the pop mount brackets a bit so that I could remove the fridge from the plate without feeling like I was going to break something. I didn't want to have to fight with the pop mounts everytime I removed my fridge from the truck so I loosened them to a point that was manageable. It still holds fairly tight, but just to be sure I added the strap down points. Although the sliding base is probably a bit over engineered with plate and the straps I'm still glad I bought the mounting plate because it provides a nice base for the fridge to clip into and also prevents it from sliding around on the base.

I recently returned from a 3 day trip. I used the fridge the entire time and man this thing rocks. I should have done this a long time ago. I also added some stickers.

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
The bracket everyone seems to be discussing -- with the quick-release ball studs -- is not the one pictured on the website. The quick-release seems to be standard with every fridge, while the optional bracket has tie-down locations and sides to allow for mounting slides.
Anyone (@.45 JHP) know when the optional bracket may be shipping out? It would sure make building my slide easier than trying to source a sheetmetal fabricator...
