My Trail Grapplers have worn pretty good for a MT. MTR's going on soon so we'll see how this set goes.....

 

Anyone have issues with alignment? I noticed that my tires after 2 alignments are like this /----\ and wearing hard on the inside. Anyone else have this issue or should I go yell at the shop?

I second that. They did it wrong!!

 

I had that after hitting a deer(before the ARB bumper)....took 2 alignments to get it straight.

 

So just keep going back and hope they get it right? I noticed my LCA adjustment is different by quite a bit than the other side and driver side seems to be worse. I'll go tear a new one tomorrow.

 

I found an old fella that had been doing alignments for 40+ years that got mine right.....and he only charged $40!

I guess my alignment is maxed out, new UCA is my only option? Any other thoughts? Also wondering if taking off my spacers would reduce rubbing on the cab mount... I got a real bad case of the rubs but I know the alignment is killing me there as well

 

I hated spacers as far as tire wear was concerned

 

Spacers are coming off. They just make my truck dirty anyways... And going through snow is a biatch. Ruts on ruts on ruts thanks for your input.

 

Might be a dumb question but I'm about to buy extended length bilsteins and ebach coils for my 6 inch lift. Also going to buy lean spacers for the drivers side. My question is do I use the top hats from my stock struts? I plan on getting a local shop to assemble them for me . Just want to know what all I need for the new setup

 

My buddy and have been talking about DB lifts so I figure I'll come here with some questions.

Right now I have factory LCAs which I just replaced because the bushings were shot, uniball UCAs and OME 886s. I like the height of my truck and don't really want it a whole lot taller. What I don't like is the stiffness of the 886s. I'm also not wild about the preload on my front suspension. I have very little down travel, the up is stiff and my CVs are at more angle than I would like. I drove home from Charleston SC to Dallas Tx last year (21hrs straight), and pretty much melted my boots. The had to be replaced a couple weeks later.

No matter what I'll be ordering coilovers soon.

What we've been discussing is going with a DB lift to take some angle and preload out of the front suspension while maintaining the current ride height.

I see a few DB kits that are available with coilovers but they are all 6" lifts. Do they make the for the 4"? Would I get my down travel back in the process? I wouldn't mind a little preload on the LCAs but not what I have now.

I'm not terribly worried about clearing big tires. I'm on 37s now with a 1" BL and have minimal rubbing.

I'm looking to improve rude quality, gain some down travel, and keep my ride height. Rear suspension is taken care of. So that part of any kit is going in the trash. Only concerned with the front.

Btw I have a crawl boc on order. Is anyone running a crawl box on a DB lift?

 

My skids are off at the moment because I'm replacing the clutch this weekend. Making a new front skid is no problem

 

I have a drop bracket and don't recommend it, you'll lose a ton of clearance between the tires. Maybe an extended CV would do the trick? But the drop bracket would do what you want. It's made to bring it back to factory spec while increasing height. What did you do for your cab mounts with those big tars?

For 4" I've seen the RCD and Zone/BDS kits

 

RCD is actually 5".
