I had ECGS do mine. Made my truck driveable again but man did it cost $$$ haha.

 

I've got the gears... just need to put em in!

 

It's on the list, but it'll wait until I get a DD.

 

Y'all and your fancy superchargers. It'd be nice if my truck could handle the boost. Or even if my wallet for that matter.

 

I heard that "Don't Fear the Gear!" is some of the best advice out there... because, ya know.. it costs a fuckload to regear so do it once and overdo it if anything.

 

That's why I want to learn to do gears myself, I like to change things as I see fit and I prefer to not have to pay stupid high prices to satisfy my every whim. I have all the equipment to do it, now it's just getting the time and confidence to give it a go.

 

Well shit sorry...! Nah but really, Im thinking about them to be my next tire! They look beefy as hell and I just gotta spend a day trimming and hammering some bullshit and then some black epoxy/ water sealant! Probably rub the shit out of the washer motor/reservoir but whatever! Have a good pic of them and also your fender wells perhaps?

 

I'm not sure how I feel about dropping diff and transfer case and all that horsecockery... I have a bad feeling that I'd fuck something up.

 

Idk how people do that. I'm afraid to even drill a single hole in my truck let alone hack stuff up so I can have bigger tires lol.

 

Meh, that's the easy part. Setting backlash and making sure the engagement on the coast and drive sides of the gears seems to be the actual tough part of the job. I figure I'll buy a clutch and do it all at once. I've got something to drive while I work it all out.

I agree, love mine.

 

It's fun! I was the same way but after putting some dents and scratches in the truck and beating the shit outta the suspension on the trails I don't mind hacking some shit (still taking my time and being careful) to get what I want. It's really freeing!

 

Meh it gets easier to beat some stuff up to make it look better and more useful too!

 

Mines just to clean (in my opinion) to hack it up.

Mine was too...

but as the great philosopher Eminem once said "butt fuck it!" I am at the point where if it doesn't do what I want what good is it!

 

I don't know what any of that meant so I assume I'll need to do some research before ever considering doing this particular job.
