Well sometime this week I'm going to go to the recruitment office and sign up for the navy or the air force....after talking with a few members on here about it I believe it's the right choice....

That's a major life decision that I wouldn't rush. Don't "go to the recruitment office and sign up". Speak to the recruiters for both services and get as much information as you need to research and make an educated decision for which branch you choose. I'd go home and sleep on all the information before signing up. And remember that what the recruiters say and what can/will actually happen after signing up can differ greatly.

You have a bachelor's degree, correct?

Oh, which one will you be? The Construction worker, officer or cowboy?

    I keed... I keed

Quite a few of the East Coast guys are in the Navy. Didnt you already graduate college? Does that mean a higher pay grade out of boot?

If he's got his bachelor's degree (and I think he does), he'll be able to go in as an officer after a bit of officer training.

I've got my mechatronics degree. From what I understand I'll be able to go in as a higher pay...

Ive always been told what was stated above about recruiters, they will promise the world but it wont mean shit unless its in writing.

Do your homework man. @loco, @ckeene9 & @AaronArf are just some if the members that have some time in armed forces. Thats just who I know off the top of my head.

I know the higher pay is appealing especially with all the benefits afforded to you but more importantly is you'll go in as an officer. You need to focus on that more than the pay because the pay follows the rank.
