Has anyone fit a Carling Contura V switch in the slots next to their 12v outlets? I looked on carlings website and it said the mounting hole is .830x1.45 but I measured the approximate hole size in my truck and it was about .88x1.8.

Just went and checked for you. First pic is to show you what I used to check...

    image.jpg
I used one of the switch blanks that you can get to fill the holes you aren't using. Same size as the switches. (Sorry didn't feel like taking all the wiring off and going behind to pop the switch out)
    image.jpg
It fits in there snug. But i don't know if you can tell from the pic (again sorry my scanguage and CB are blocking the way from a front on shot) there is a tiny tiny gap on the top. With an actual switch, it would most likely go unnoticed.

Thanks!!! Just wanted to see if anyone had done something similar before I went and bought stuff and tore the truck all apart wiring things.

No prob. Never really thought about switches in those blanks until you mentioned it. I guess if I ever run out of room on my panel I'll use those
