No, but it's along the lines of the models I personally design and build. I don't have many (if any) left...hang on...I do! Stand by for future post.

Here's my Stearman, which is the only bird that has survived two moves and being in storage. Everything is card stock, toothpicks, fine wire, and white glue, while the steel cables are silver needlepoint threads. The windscreen is from envelopes, and I did a bunch or scratch build upgrades to that 7-cylinder rotary to make it more authentic.

    The propeller spins.

For a Tacoma, I'd design it around a frame box that accurately represents how the truck is really built. It wouldn't take me that long, only about a year or so, and painting is easy with Gimp.

And then there's accessories. Hi lift jacks. Toppers. Shovels. RTTs.

I think I'm motivated to finish cleaning up my garage (so that project isn't hanging over my head) and design some models again...

That is awesome! Thanks Rick, anytime I can get my artwork out there helps immensely since all my work is word of mouth. It's much appreciated and if I can get a commission out of it even better!
Your painting will be at UPS by 2:30 today and I'll pm you your tracking info Later tonight. Can't wait for you to see it in person! :D

How long is the lead time usually after a picture is sent to you?

    Hey John,
It varies, but usually it's about a month or so for turn around per painting. I only do them one at a time and demand has not been so high that I've gotten back logged as of yet. I am just starting one now which will probably take me a full month or more since it's a good size piece. Let me know when you're ready and I should be able to give you a good estimate.

Always, this is my little side business. I'm a high school art teacher by trade. Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

Sounds good! I can work from a photo from a driveway if needed, that's what I did with Rick's painting. Then I just added in the background of his choosing. Nice and clear photo is all I ask then I can do the rest.
Other option would be to do just a simple background, or just a simple shadow like I did with the Miata from a few pages back.

Scott I can't thank you enough for the picture, and at no cost to me to boot. Going to have a frame made for it, speechless right now. Pictures just did not do it any justice until seeing it in person.
