Ya and they will give you more money from the beginning because you are married and have kids.

I think it's something I want to with my life and I also get to travel. What's the basic training like for the navy? 7 weeks?

It's 9 weeks and could be a little longer. If you still have wisdom teeth they pull them so that could delay you.

But since you have education you'll start out at an e3 prob.

Hahah I don't need them taken out. My dentist didn't want to take them out unless they started to hurt, they never have. I will be 30 in a couple months I am also thinking better late than never.

I never had my wisdom teeth pulled either. Why do they pull them?

So they don't become a problem at the worst time, removing you from your post.

Which branch you do depends on what you want to do after the military. Each one has a lot to offer.

Also, how far are you from having your full degree? Officer life is way better than enlisted, better pay too.

With a 2 year degree you can go in with some rank...probably an E3 or E4

If you join the coast guard AUX first before enlisting you bump up also. AUX does everything gold side does but law enforcement.

Contact recruiters from the branches you are interested in and sit down and talk with them. I never was in the military, but my job is in aerospace so they are our customers and we recruit them into cicivilian jobs within my company after active duty.

There so many opportunities with military background. Blow shit up, R&D, business and finance...etc. I get to work with people who were anywhere from soldiers that served overseas to Generals that are now in top leadership positions of my company. It's a very humbling opportunity.

Talking to a recruiter will help them guide you to the best decesion to fit your career goals and aspirations. .
