Was a cold and blowy weekend here, yesterday not as bad as Saturday, but bone chilling.

 

Makes me worry about my boat trailer but it only moves 2 miles per year. But it's a hell of a lot heavier than a sled...

 

Yours is probably galvanized with greasable axles also, right?

it was a lot of fun! Who knew freezing my toes and fingers off waste deep in 20° weather could be so much fun! Well it warmed up a bit, but when we got there I think it was 23 degrees outside... And wind chill was brutal... I almost caught a fish, "fought" it for a minute, but it got off before i could land it. Weird being able to see the fish while you're fishing...

Wow, sounds like a few of us have some good trailer stories. Mine is from back in the late 80's - when I was a mechanic sent out with the wrecker and dolly to retrieve a 30's chevy with flat tires from Westchester NY. Jack slipped when I was putting that tank on the dolly trapping me under the car. I'm lucky to be alive as my head was in a place that had just enough room not to be crushed. Owner repositioned the jack and got me out. On my way back the right wheels on the dolly started to squeak - in NY. By the time I got to Bridgeport, the wheels were wobbling back and forth. The last 20 miles up RT 8 were in 1st gear in the breakdown lane. Took me over 12 hours to get that thing back to the garage. Let's just say that's the only time the dolly came off the back of the truck.
