What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I unfortunately do drive a ton, IMO at least and for the area that I'm in... I've had the truck for just over 5 yrs and put nearly 120,000 miles on it in that time, so every 0.1 mpg makes a difference to me.

As for the appearance thing and buyer's remorse, I'm pretty confident that I'll be happy with the size, and I trust the people that I'm buying the tires from to not steer me wrong... after all, the wheels and tires are coming from a good friend who's got a wheel distribution business and supplies wheels to all the local tire shops in the metro area, and my daughter babysits for him from time to time... so I've got his kids as bargaining chips LOL

 

So i went to go place an order for mesh kit from custom car grills, and their website is down

 

Added Nerf Bars and LED Dome and Map Lights

 

I had that frustration Saturday night after my installation when I went to transfer money from one bank account to the other, so go celebrate the completed install with some alcoholic beverages... sadly the drinks had to wait until sunday

 

Look at the 275/65R18 they are a C rated tire and will ride way better. 1/2 inche wider and only 1/2 inch shorter

 

Pelfreybilt bumpers are here!!!!! Yay!!! Now I have to wait until Saturday when I have time to install them! Dangit.

 

Replaced the giant antenna with "The Shorty" from Antenna X. Will find out how it performs this evening.

 

How long is it? Thinkin about replacing mine

 

It's 6", it's the same company that makes "The Stubby" that someone else on here recommended to me, but this one was a little bit cheaper on Amazon and also it had very few (I actually think zero but don't have time to check just now) bad reviews about reception quality. While I really don't ever use the radio (always listen to music through my phone) that kind of appealed plus I liked the look of it a little better.

 

Organized my tool box, adjusted the location of my basket on my bed rack, cleaned trash out of interior...nothing exciting.

Got lots of little maintenance items to do the next couple weeks due to winter neglect and prepping for a TN Dirt Devil trip.

 

Word of advice, so it doesn't happen to you like it did to me, if you go to a car wash that has those swinging strap looking things, take it off. Mine snapped.

 

I actually am lazy so I don't use car washes that aren't "touchless", excellent advice though sir!

Yeah, I saw the warnings from Toyota about removing the factory antenna and I was just like, man, I'm not going to want to do that, so I found a touchless car wash just down the road so it just uses high pressure water to do the cleaning basically. Another reason was I don't trust the previous owners installation of the AVS vent shades, they're the stick on instead of in channel and I'm worried they're gonna rip off in a traditional car wash before I am ready to buy new ones hehe.

 

Gotcha. Just ordered a set of AVS in channels today actually. Can't wait to get them!

 

You'll love them I bet. I had the Aerovisors (the offroad ones with the much larger profile so they stuck out more) on my Ford Ranger WAY back in the day. They are all helpful though.

Is that at the OTB setting, or how much preload? How do you like the ride compared to what you had before? How's the handling without UCA's

 

UCA's next month when I get more cash and the wife settles down from me spending so much money lately

 

Yeah that's the out-of-the-box setting on there right now it's just coming out of the shop I'll let you know as soon as I drive it
