Quicksand Paint Issue?

Got a 2016 DC SR5 in December. Loving it but went to wax for the first time today and saw a few small blemishes that look like rust on the paint. Might be hard to tell from my picture but is this what I'm seeing?

 

I see one spot in the bottom picture nothing in the top. Have you tried a clay bar on that spot or even a little extra elbow grease?

 

I had a brand new White Camry that I bought for my wife before the b*tch wanted a divorce. Worst mistake ever. Anyhow maybe the Quicksand is that color where EVERYTHING wants to stick to it. The white car would show weird pollen stains that couldn't be taken out when washing and it has a couple of those spots. I believe the Clay Bar took it off.

 

Clay bar it then hit it with Meguairs synthetic sealant wax or zymol.

 

What was a mistake? Buying a white car or getting married

 

could be some iron deposits from transporting. Hit it with some clay then follow up with some ironX on the paint. It will dissolve the ferrous material and once you spray it on your paint you will be amazed how much you will see melting away

Very obvious on white vehicles and light colored (non-metallic) paint.

 

it's called rail dust - google it and and use IronX, you'll probably notice more spots, even on painted plastic parts

 

I agree on the clay bar. However, if it is in fact a small spec of metal sitting on the surface, be careful when you rub it with the clay - keep an eye on it; as soon as the clay pick it up, stop so you don't rub it all over the surface and scratch everything to hell. It should be easy to see if it is a speck of metal that is rusting on the surface, or a paint defect that makes the metal underneath rust through - first will be a bump on the surface, latter will be a small pin hole in the paint.

I drive a white vehicle and my understanding with small rust specks like that is it's brake dust that stuck to the paint and is now oxidizing. Like Boerseun said if you decide to clay bar it, pay attention to when the spot dissapears as the clay can dam age paint as much as it csn help. Clay bar will pull most if not all of these kinds of blemishes out. I'm a firm believer in clay baring a vehicle twice a year. Be sure to knead the clay often and keep it wet
