It's interesting but if I was HPD and I qualified for a subsidized vehicle…..well, I'd probably get the PRO over a regular 4Runner. Any price differential is paid by the individual.

Yup, they use personal vehicles subsidized by the county. Helps to keep the fleet budget/expense down. There's plenty of 4Runners on patrol.

That's pretty neat! Probably makes them care for the vehicles a lot more.

Installed my SCS 16" SR8 wheels today! Waiting on delivery of my BFG KO2's which takes 3-6 weeks to get here but I got 4 sets of 265/75/16 KO2's for $700 OTD so I'll wait. The place that installed my wheels quoted me $1,200 and so did a lot of places and the Goodyear deal quoted me $850, so I'll rock stock tires till I mount the KO2.

Once you reach 10 years with the department you are then able to use your own vehicle. HPD doesn't buy the car though you do. You are paid a monthly expense for upkeep and maintenance though. Only certain vehicles can be used though 4R is the most popular, and servco does give $800 off for hpd officers.

Yea the vehicle has to meet certain engine requirements, size, among a few things and be able to have enough room for a computer mount.

Any of you guys ever get roaches your trucks? Left mine sitting for almost two months while away for work and saw a few in there when I got back today. If so, how do you get rid of them? Mahalo

I always have one of those sticky roach motels under the seat. I put one in since brand new. I feel it's better to know that they're stuck in there and that I can throw them away. Better than poisoning them and then they crawl in the corners of the cab and die, in your truck forever.
