I had the dealer replace body bushings,etc. on my '07 at no charge.

Yep, that is the rack bushing kit I had the dealer put on. I figured it didnt hurt to ask if they would put them on, I just didnt expect them to do it for free. I had the wife move the steering wheel while I watched the old bushings from underneath, and didn't like how much play they had. My truck has close to 160,xxx mi though.

 

Its really at dealer discretion whether they will charge you for the install. The tech told the service writer it took him like 10 minutes, so they didn't bother charging me which was fine by me.

Dev, I asked them as long as new parts are part of the tear down and rebuild will they charge? They said no, as long as it didn't require extra labor.

 

Yes and also, my truck has almost 160,000 miles. I figure I'll make the most of this.

 

I would still have done it if they charged me, I had them in my glovebox as one of those when I get around to it jobs.

It may save you some $ in labor down the road, it would suck wish you had done it 6 months to a year from now.

I held out, but it was my understanding that to be included in any extended warranty that my truck had to be inspected by 3/31/16. Or I would have been SOL

 

I just can't wait to see what kind of shit they break off, I think if parts are damaged by the frame replacement it's no charge, even if not included in the parts list.

 

I'd love to have the TRD exaust, but I'm a minimalist, so I dont replace stuff until it's usefulness has expired, and the exhaust and tires still have useful life left unfortunately. I do tend to drift around corners on gravel to try to speed up the process though.

 

It wouldnt hurt to start hitting any visible bolts with penetrating lube the week before your appointment.

 

I know the LCA cam bolts tend to freeze, but they are replacing those anyway.

 

Bed bolts also are known to rust in place.
