Question for those who plasti dip the wheels. Up here we have to change to winter tires then back to all seasons or anything else, so twice a year tires get reinstalled. Does changing a tire will destroy (or just damage...) a plasti dip job?
I know I could get an other set of wheels, but then I would not need plastidip in the first place.

So I think I'm finally ready to try this Plastidip derpery. I have a custom mesh grill from customcargrills.com which is currently bare metal. I want to derp the custom grill and bezel flat black. These are the steps I'm planning on taking, please let me know if I miss anything.
    1. remove OEM grill / bezel from truck
    2. separate OEM Grill from bezel
    3. Clean OEM bezel with (fill in the blank)
    4. clean custom car grills bare alloy mesh with (fill in the blank)
    5. Hang bezel and grill from something....
    6. Apply 4-5 coats of Black Plasti dip
    7. Apply 3 coats of Plasti dip satinizer
    8. Let dry overnight
    9. Glue alloy grill to OEM bezel
    10. Install newly painted Grill
    11. Take lots of pictures
    12. Go for a drive down the BLVD
    13. Take some more pictures
    14. Upload pics to TW so ya'll can drool
    15. Upload pics to Instagram so the rest of the world can drool.
    Does that seem about right?

    Looks good.

I didn't remove anything, just taped it off good, cleaned with soap and water and then
some alcohol which removed a bit more dirt and then gave it 5 coats - done!

How did you remove the emblem or dip it a different color?

It's not that hard I took the grill off the truck and just taped and masked off between the chrome and colored piece gave it 5 coats about 20 minutes between each the last coat waited about 5 minutes and peeled everything off came out great!!

I just did the chrome trim bezel around the grill. I think it gives it a cleaner look.

Yup, just a couple plastic tabs. They can be delicate so be careful when removing them

Dammit. Just saw how good this looks. Now I gotta go read all 12 pages...

(I'm guessing this is a lot cheaper than a new black grill?)

Anyone spray their roof? I was looking at wrapping it with vinyl but I think I am going to try this first to see if I like it.

I had that quick thought yesterday when I was doing my grill/emblems. The amount of area I'd have to do turned me off of it.
