What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Anyone running method double standards with the machined lip?

Or any other wheels that are dark with a machined/polished lip?

 

To remove my headlight filler panel, if anyone understands that, do I have to take my headlight off? 99 Tacoma.

Our trucks have different front ends since mine is a 96, but for mine it simply pops out of the grill.

Take out your corner light and you should be able to just pop it right off if it's mounted similarly.

 

This weekend I put on a set of superior auto leaf spring helpers. My "clunk" in the drive line is 90percent gone. It's good to have some flex so I am happy Also greased my driveline with red and tackey

 

Take off your corner lights and grill I think. There's a bolt under one of those. Then it's clipped on the other side. Fairly easy

 

There's a clip holding it on too, just gotta figure out the corner light, how to reach that clip.

 

You just slide it to the left or right. Not really a clip per say

Theres a plastic "clip" behind the panel that just slides to the right or left

 

Mine won't move more than like 1/2 inch or so. I'll keep Workin at it...

 

It's a PITA but once you get it it's easier

I wholeheartedly agree! Kinda a lot of fuss to go through on the front diff I wonder why Toyota decided to do a clamshell, Ford, Chevy and Dodge all use normal diffs in their front IFS systems.

It's not too big of a deal, I think I saw some of these at autozone so yeah.

 

I always learn to take my time especially with my truck. Even though you need to hurry when you have a mechanic job.
