Page 291 of the manual. You can set the audio to adjust tone and volume depending on speed of the truck.

Sounds like a pain in the neck. I'm glad my truck has a regular key, forget the (not so) smart key.

It actually has some good features I enjoy and my opinion the plus far out weighs the negative. This post was more in response to the folks that like to leave their FOB in their truck and were concerned it would drain the FOB battery. As an avid surfer I fall in that category. As stated in the previous post you just turn off the FOB and no worries.

Hmmmm mine worked. I set it to med You got me. I don't know why it didn't work for you. Did you press on it to see if it sent you to the next screen?

Did you have to be in gear/driving when you set it? I tried on accessory then started it and only got the screen with the check marks.

Just tried again and put it in gear, same just allows me to check or uncheck the box, I wonder if it's different on the Limiteds sound system?

Mine the same. Maybe it is just the radio in the Limited.

Sorry. Keep forgetting not everyone has the same model and package as me. Like you said maybe doesn't work on limited. Something to do with the JBL upgrade possible.

I never find those things work very well anyway. Maybe having the option to change volume level helps, but I just use the volume control on the steering wheel anyway, not much of an issue for me.

On another note, I found that you can set the volume level for different sources at different levels, so when you tune back to say FM it'll be at the same level you left it earlier.

Looks like that is it if your limited is acting the same way.

    Relock Question?
I have the option set to Relock the doors at 120 seconds.
What I would like to know is how far does the KeyFob have to be before it Relocks itself?
I noticed sometimes it locks after 120 seconds and sometimes it doesn't.

I followed the video to upload jpeg . On start up I still see the Toyota image. It stays on for a few seconds. The image I uploaded stays on a second or so. The second file did not upload. Anyone experiencing this?

It is normal for the Toyota image with the safety message to come on first. Then your image for a brief few seconds.

I have gotten so used to having Smart keys in my vehicles that the thought of not having one is a turn off for me. Before deciding to go to another Tacoma I was playing with the idea of the 4Runner TRD Pro and one of the things that bugged me was knowing I would have to go back to a regular key. That and the fact that they still don't have a power lift gate on the Runners is mind boggling. Sounds ridiculous but once you get used to creature comforts like that makes me not wanting to rush into a vehicle that doesn't have them. Escuse me while I play the worlds smallest violin...

    Map/nav screen 'issue.'

Ok, it's my issue but wondering if there's a way to resolve it...

I tend to leave to nav map at full screen. If I reach to tap a screen button and miss, it drop a crosshair on that spot and the map no longer moves as it tracks my current position.
Is there a way to 'delete' this spot without having to go back to 'Home' first?

This also happens if I grab the volume knob and dust the map screen as I rotate the knob. (Yes I know I can use the steering when controls but sometimes they can't respond fast enough to lower the volume)
