The Waiting Game...Who's playing?

Nice! It was 3 weeks after my build date that I got my truck.

 

I hope so. Right in time for summer. i will have to start ordering parts..

 

I'm picking it up Wednesday

 

I was torn between Inferno or Quicksand. Nice looking truck Steve

 

Ordered my 2016 DCLB O/R in Blue....patiently waiting. My build date was last Friday. Not sure if that is a good thing (being built on a Friday!). Expect it before the end of the month.

 

When did you order it? I'm just curious as the time to build currently?

 

just placed an order for a 2016 DCSB LTD in Blue..... cant wait. my first truck

 

Placed an order for a 4x4 Sport DC/SB the beginning of February, dealer called me and said it could be in as early as the end of the month. I thought for sure it would have been the middle to end of April before I saw it.

 

Just curious.. for those who are still waiting or have waited, how often did you guys bugged the dealer about the status of your order?

It's only been 3 weeks (3 excruciating weeks) but I haven't heard since the first day when I had to bug them to give me a copy of the "order", which turned out to be just a request for a trade of allocation. Since then, I called the dealer once because another dealer said they will trade one that's in the region (but sell to me for MSRP). My dealer checked and said there were 8 allocated in the region (GST) with my exact configuration, without responding to my question if they're gonna try to trade for one of those. It's been 2 weeks since, and I haven't heard from the dealer...

Did you guys call the dealer every week? or just sit and wait for weeks / months until the dealer gave you a call?

 

My waiting game is over, a couple of days short of 3 months! Picked her up last week! Hang in there folks, it'll be worth it in the end!

 

Feb 18th. Build date March 4th. I was told it would arrive before the end of the month.

 

I ordered the same truck in January and my build date isn't until 3/22 so I won't get mine until April. What options? I'm curious why there is no consistency on the timelines...

 

I got a Double Cab, 4x4, Off-Road, Tow Package, Tech Package with JBL, Sunroof, Long Bed in Blue.

 

My build date got moved up from the 22nd--->15th. How long are you guys typically seeing from build date to delivery? Few weeks?

 

The timeline depends entirely on how the order is being placed. If it is an allocation order, and they have a truck similar to what you are looking for that is being built in a week or two, they might be able to get you the truck within 3-4 week by the time it gets built and shipped. If they are doing a dealer swap to get it, they might be able to get it within a week or two. If it is a special order that is not part of their normal allocation like mine was, the order is going in at the end of the line so to speak, so you might be looking at 3-4 months depending on what kind of truck you are having built.

 

Seems to depend a lot on where you are relative to the plant and port and how the truck is getting there. I am getting mine from a dealer in Dallas, which means the truck went from the plant in San Antonio to the Port prep location in Houston. Then up to Dallas. Both moves probably went by truck, which is generally going to be faster than rail and 1-2 weeks is a reasonable ballpark from build to delivery. There are folks whose trucks are being shipped from the port to their dealer by rail that are having longer waits due to slower movements by rail.

 

My truck was at the railyard for nearly a week before it was finally brought to the dealership 15 miles away.
