Dude, something is wrong. There were no manuals allocated for Atlanta either, but I ordered mine three weeks ago and I am picking up this week. Hell, they are made in Texas. Your dealer sucks.

    TW in a nutshell^^^

But seriously, Thanks! I'll have to try that this week. Been seeing a lot of these UJoint posts and figured they were just typical "Worry Wart" posts. I'll give that a shot.

Texas is the last on the list because they build them here.. That's my guess.

Posting this for all TW members. This should really be stickied... Somehow. Just tolk my truck in for service, asked them to lube and retorque the prop shaft and u-joints.didn't see it on the service ticket, but the issue was obviously resolved. Cause no more clunk when shifting. This is the email I got back from Toyota:

    Good morning Mr. Bolen,

Service indicates that your advisor Jimmy verbally asked the tech to lube and re-torque the prop shaft. It seems that as you mention, this has resolved the clunk. This work was not mentioned on the work order it was only a verbal communication. We have made a note of it on your file so that there is a record of it.

For the 1,000km these are the checks that they do:

    1. Under hood inspection for fluids

    2. Tire pressure check

    3. Undercarriage inspection

    4. Wash + vac.

There is no physical check list for this particular service unlike the safety inspection where there would be a printout available. If you have additional questions, our Senior Service Advisor Ammar Ahmed would be able to help you at 604-465-9146 ext 117.

Please let me know if I may be of additional assistance.

    Sincerely,

    West Coast Toyota

SO... Get your u-joints lubed and the prop shaft bolts retorqued. Just take it to Toyota this should be a free service. It's amazing how much smoother my truck shifts now. I didn't think this was even an issue. It's POSSIBLE this may even effect the automatic transmission... Not sure but maybe the lack of AT fluid in the autos is not the only problem. GET YOUR STUFF CHECKED @RitchieE24

I've seen it, also seen a guy with a Suzuki samurai on the trail with a carb that hates steep inclines. Kept dying on him so he used his starter motor to crawl up this rock face. Pretty impressive...

however with hill assist in the 3rd gen, plus the curb weight of the truck itself:
    - I wonder how the starter motor would hold up to this
    - Is it even necessary to use this as a makeshift crawl control?
    - Is that the actual intended purpose of the clutch start cancel?

Can't answer your question on the light staying on... I've also wondered this myself.

    Any insight from anyone else?

From my understanding, Clutch Start Cancel is to be used in 4x4 Low only and it allows you to start the truck if you stall on an incline, so you don't slip backward or spin tires by trying to use the clutch/brake pedals.

You're really not supposed to use it to crawl up inclines, because that is what the six cylinders are for. It's to be used to get you out of a tricky situation. Some people use it to start their truck in winter to heat it up without having to climb in and push the pedal. Just make sure it's in neutral if you do that.

The light stays on because the clutch cancel function stays active until the ignition is turned off.

No you cannot. In the US the only AC V6 MT combo is the TRD Sport.

The starter motor won't last long moving the truck.

I pulled the trigger and ordered a 6 speed a few days ago. First car was a stick, current one is a stick. I just love it all around, not to mention the new box is pretty car like and fun to throw around.

Anyone have estimates on MT builds to the PNW. I've heard from a few that MT's are taking longer than the auto's. Damn shame, I couldn't find any MT's local to save my life.

Now that I have some miles on my rig I'm dipping into 1st gear more... this 3.5 sure feels sweet between ~4-6 k!
I remember seeing some dyno sheets on another thread and this data was extrapolated from the curves by one memebr - but holy shit if you hit it at the right RPM and fly into second gear- Hot Damm! :burnrubber::burnrubber:

I've had the truck 2 months now and I'm still learning everytime I get behind the wheel. Love it! And this is my 4th MT vehicle.

I know what you mean. There is a definite power band around 3500 rpm. If you shift around 4200 to 4400 rpm and hit that power band in the next gear hold on.....

I actually thought the truck was kinda underpowered, yet at the right RPM it sure kicks. Oh well, it's not a racecar. I bought it specifically for camping and wheeling!

I know drag racing is looked down upon on this site because it's illegal. But I would sure like to see a 2016 manual vs auto race. Bet it would be interesing...manual FTMFW.

    3) Rear seat comfortable enough for few hours drive?[/QUOTE]

The way I always look at it is this. Nobody sitting in the back seat is making the payments. So it doesn't matter how comfortable they are. Children/elderly parents may be your exception. Other than that, if they complain in my truck I will gladly pull over at the next dealer so they can buy me a more comfortable vehicle to ride in.

I like your attitude, I've had friends complain my truck only has one seat. They thought I should buy a different truck with a back seat for whiners.
