    Yeah, but what would be the advantage on a track day... ALOT of people run track/racing crap and never track their truck...

    Well, big inch motors with crazy oil and comb pressures can afford to loose some protection to gain a big fat happy fast oil wedge,,after all, it's all or nothing getting to the stripe, and it's also the price of admission into the club,,so to speak, lol. Dry sumps putting staged 85 Psi of 60wt racing to the filters with burst cages surrounding them. We sold the burst cages. Weren't needed and we had to make 14 qt diapers anyways. Haven't torn 1 of them since 2006,,and this was with Wix Racing. We used the Wix Racing for about 1 season, then went to the Gold's.

    Napa Gold is ABOUT 32-34 microns and will do our Yota junk just fine.

    Next step under(or over) is System One stuff and others now with cleanable screen crap traps,,at 30 microns. Then there fuel crap traps at 10-20 microns and so on. China basically Zerox's this stuff now,,so be aware.

    Has anyone cut open a fram ultra? They are the new trendy filter on BITOG. I have used pureOne for the last 10 years, but there have been some failures on those.

    Thanks for the thread Chris! Very helpful and informative. I was using the high end Fram filters and Mobile synthetic oil combo. But now I will switch to Toyota oil filters. Again, thanks for the comparisons! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

    This comparison does not have the high end fram filter in it. I assume you are talking about the fram ultra.

    Do you have any data to back that up? Just looking at the filter it looks like it is pretty high quality.

    No. I was just sold on what Chris has compared. The Toyota OEM is reasonably priced and the quality looks good (according to his pics), but then again it could be a matter of preference and how long an individual has been using that particular brand. Whats your take on this Fram Ultra?

    I have done a good amount of research on the ultra and from the reviews I have seen it holds its own against all the high end filters. IS it the best? Probably not but it may be one of the best and it looks like for the money you can't really go wrong with it.

    That looks very close to Wix 51516, which I used to run on my truck. Now, I run only synthetic filters. Have the Mobile 1 at the moment. Will be looking at the Wix 51516XP next. Can't beat 10K oil changes.
