Sure I can, since I've owned both, I can make an educated decision which bed length I prefer based on actual personal experience, not based on other owners perception like yourself. You ASSUME longbed owners are concerned with showing off that they have longbeds. You assumed incorrectly with me.

    Just sayin....

If you can't decide just buy the Limited, then you'll have no choice. SB in the US, LB in CAN. ;)

I've always preferred the longer box for hauling stuff, BUT, I haul stuff not everybody does. It's all about personal preference, so you'll never get any form of consensus when it comes to a question like this.
It's like posting a thread that asks, "what's your favorite, SR5 or LTD?" :crapstorm:

    Damn....

Now I want to put hair on my longbed truck nutz, dig out my flatbill, put on my wife beater and drive my longbed to Costco and start blocking shit.....

Fuck a bunch of old ladies and short beds trying to get by.

Thanks Sbpark and 0210, I never would have thought of doing that before but seeing it now, that's how we LBs roll....

I owned an '07 DCSB for three years before I bought my '16 DCSB, not once have I ever wished for a long bed. My short beds have hauled my four wheeler, carried extra camping gear and mountain bikes when towing my trailer, moved furniture, carried an engine/transmission and hauled 4x8 sheets of plywood from Home Depot. Years ago I had a Ranger RCLB and I wished everyday that it was a short bed. The extra foot of bed wasn't significantly more useful and the truck looked horrible and out of proportion with a long bed.

Like my daddy once said: "everybody is a LOT of people." For one, I certainly don't regret buying the SB but maybe I am minority of 1. Also, someone said the SB looks disproportional compared to the LB. Just for kicks, I measured by bed from the beginning to the end of the bumper (69") and the front end from the fender edge to the front bumper (or whatever you call that black piece on the front) and it was 63". IMO, that looks fairly well balanced looking at front-cab-bed. I always thought my Tundra looked imbalanced with the short nose and standard bed. Bottom line: I never even thought about the difference between the SB and LB relative to opinions until I read this thread...interesting opinions. But, my opinion and $.25 won't get you a damn thing. As they say in the Harley world: Ride safe:cheers:

i went through this decision before i got my DCSB OR. I decided on the SB because i dont haul ATVs or motorcycles; the LB is just too long trying to park it in underground decks where i park everyday, plus it would not have fit in my garage

I didn't think you could fit much of an ATV in the back anyways.... isn't the space between wheel wells a bit less than a Honda Rancher? Yeah, you could get it in the back, but you have to drive over the wheel wells..... no thanks. I'll just use my trailer.

I got the short bed because I like the way it looks more, and I find I can carry most things I regularly need in the bed. As far as sleeping in there, that's a negatory if you are over 6' tall. It's just a bit too cramped to comfortably sleep one person and definitely not comfortable for two. I am going to get a RTT very soon and that should be the end of my sleeping troubles. Overall would choose DCSB over anything.

If i were you i'd test drive both. If you feel comfortable driving with the long bed around town and parking it go for that. Depends also how much you use the bed and or if all of your gear will fit. Pretty obvious the pros and cons of each so it's up to you to decide. If I were to get the trd off road I would probably buy the long bed. I'm really interested in the trd pro and the short bed is the only option so it's a no brainer. Most of the things I would be carrying around are motorcycles so it would fit in the short bed with the tailgate down. Good luck with whatever you decide.

He is right you need to test drive both to see what you are comfortable with. If you are big on hauling stuff the LB is the way to go. Many people on here complain about parking and maneuverability which I think is bull. For me the primary reason I buy a pickup is more hauling and the short bed is useless Also the new tacos come with backup cameras which should assist you in backup parking.

You LB folks crack me up! Love the comments on how the short bed is "useless", but somehow a 20% increase in bed length makes the truck magically 100% useful.

I'd argue that once you go DCLB, you have near full size length and price and you are stuck with an automatic transmission. Might as well buy a full size at that point.

Let me clarify my SB useless statement. As far as my needs a SB is useless. On the other hand it may be the perfect fit for other folks. I haul a lot of construction stuff
