On the fence about OEM All-weather mats or the Husky Weatherbeater/Weather Techs. I know the Factory mats curve up on the sides, but from pictures it looks like Husky's have a little more lip. I have also read OEM's are a little softer rubber compound. Has anyone compared them?? I had the Weatherbeaters in my 2nd gen and loved them. Dealer is tacking on an extra $220 for the floor mats/door sill...am I better off buying my own after delivery?

I'd pass on the dealer. The OEM mats can be found for $100, and the door sill protectors for $50.

I have both and very happy with them. The Huskys for sure look a lot more robust, but they are more expensive.

I got Husky X-Act Contour floor liners and they're fantastic. They're a soft rubber like the all weather mats but its got the fit of the weathertechs in a sense that it covers the dead pedal and sill and up the walls of the floor. look for them on Amazon. they're definitely worth it and cheaper than buying from the dealer

Don't pay $220 for the OEM all weather mats. I just sold mine on the forum for $75 so you can get them much cheaper. The OEM mats are nice, but didn't work that well for snow as the melted snow would just drain off the mats. Ended up buying the Husky X-Act Contours which offer a lot more protection and hold the water in the mat. If you do a search, someone has a picture of the OEM mats sitting inside the Husky mats.

The floor liners will provide much more protection than OEM all weather mats from experience from different cars.

I went with weathertech because I got a deal on them...but up until I pulled the trigger I was on the fence between the two brands. They have gotten equally good reviews from TW members. The one thing I would have liked on the weathertechs is the nubs on the underside to keep them firmly in place for the passenger side.

I ordered Huskys the day I bought the truck. At first I wasn't sure if I'd like them because they are more plastic than rubbery (like I had in my previous car), but I will never buy anything but Huskys in the future. They are the best.

either one is better than the OEM's. just depends which camp you prefer. they both have pro/con to the features they cater to.

I bought the OEM mats from the dealer, then promptly ordered the WeatherTech ones.
If you want OEM all weather mats you can have mine for $75 plus shipping.

I have the OEM all-weather and regular mats. Not impressed with the passenger side all-weather. It may fit to the contours, but moves around really easily. My Gen 2 had the tabs to lock it into place, not the Gen 3, so disappointed with that. I'm always straightening it out, another OCD moment!
Regulars almost seem to stick to the floor like Velcro, so that one is ok.

There are two different versions of the factory all-weathers ... there are some that are just mats, and then some that are liners. The factory liners are more comparable to the Husky or Weathertechs because they also have a bit of a lip on them, but the mats are just flat with no lip. Personally I think all the liners are probably about comparable in quality and performance. I went with the Toyota ones because I've had the Weathertechs in another car, and while they were nice, I kind of wanted to spend the extra $ on the Toyota ones because they say Tacoma :D :D ... it's a bit silly of a reason, but I thought it would be a nice touch. They fit fine for me, but I've read some reports of others having ones that don't fit as well. I think that's possibly a problem with any of them though. Even my Weathertechs I had to use a heatgun to get the fit just right.

If you have problems with the mats moving around, try using some velcro on the bottom of them or corners. Just use the hook portion (the stiffer ones, not the soft fuzzy one) and it will stick to the carpet great :) That's what I had to do with my Weathertechs.

Do we know the reason why Toyota came out with 2 different sets of the all-weather mats?

I bought the non-lipped set (didn't know at the time there were 2 versions) and am happy with them, but I just found a lipped set here on this forum for a good price, so I got those now too.

I have the 'earlier' version of the OEM all-weather mats, the ones that don't go up and protect the edges. Now that I live in a part of the country where I don't really experience snow and lots of mud, etc. I'd say they are more than adequate. If I was back in Colorado I'd for sure have the Husky or WeatherTech mats, and did have the WeatherTechs in my old vehicle and was very happy with them.

The non-lipped mats are earlier versions and they only more recently started offering liners.

It's kinda what I figured, it just seems strange they would re-design the all-weather floormat when people have trucks that are buzzing so bad that they are putting their hands and feet to sleep. ;)
