Google Tacoma sales vs GM twin sales. Pretty much every search results says Tacoma outsells the GM but whatever, I don't care.

This thread is called "Why I SHOULDN'T buy a Colorado " and most people here agree for their own reasons. Every truck has its pros/cons.

If you really think the GM is so much better, then why don't you start a thread "Why I should buy a Colorado " or go to the GM forums instead?

I've always driven Ford, and I could probably get a job at Ford as a mechanic now. I wanted a truck that is reliable, will hold its value, and will last forever if I decide to keep it. Didn't take much research to end up in a Toyota. So far I am not disappointed.

The dealerships around me can`t keep em on the lot, when they have them it`s 4 or 5 at the most at one time.

I drove a Colorado. It was nice enough, I guess... It cost as much as the Tacoma. It will be worth much less in five years. The cloth interior felt cheap to me. I hate gaudy touch screen radios and navigation. Plus, I just couldn't get past the fact that it has S-10 ancestry. "$34,000 for a modern S-10" kept running through my mind. Eventually, I'll go to the 3rd Gen Tacoma, but I never buy a first year of a redesign. The Z-71 Colorado does look sharp though. And the leather option does make the interior look a lot nicer.

I know this post is old, but have a friend that just bought the 2018 Colorado with the new diesel engine in it. Got it fully loaded (missing a few items still). told him I ordered a 2018 Tacoma and he started looking over my build page and such and then went to the Toyota website. Was like damn, I'm pretty sure you got the better truck, I should have looked at the Tacoma's also. They have better resale value, they look better, have better options included, etc. Think he is second guessing himself now for not looking at them and just jumping on the Colorado.
