Better to ask what I have not done.
4.88 if you want some get up and go. If you want to keep some of that fuel economy get 4.56

Yeah, stock size tires don't need new gears, unicorn fart injection might help the most.

I know a guy running 285's on his 4 banger and he doesn't complain about a lack of power.

You have to remember, axle gears only really help keep you in the correct powerband if you increased tire size, they don't give you more power. With a 4cylinder at this altitude it will feel weak with any gear combo, off the line will feel a little better.

But stock is no fun! I'll have to look up those unicorn fart injectors. Bet they are pricy!

Just did the math and that would suck the gas with 4:88 but might want to go that rout.

Depends on the driver. If you have a 4cylinder driving in Colorado mountains, your right leg should be shaking trying to drive the pedal through the floor to maintain the speed limit. :p

@thefatkid so it really would not help? I really do not like having to put my truck in 4low just to pull my raft and trailer out of the river. 4hi for me suck really in any off-road situation I get into

That's how I felt in my 4.0 going up the mountains with heavy tires but before boost. Now I can actually pass Jace going uphill.

Yeah I was eyeing that for a while just was hoping re-gearing would help with out the 5grand price tag.

Once I get going it runs fine and pass people going up to winter park. Helps to have a stick. But really want the low end stuff

When I tow anything for extended slow speed driving I always use low range. I'm thinking of making an electrical cut to give me 2wd low range. I don't use 4wd high in very many situations really. Comes down to personal preference. If I need 4wd generally I need the gearing that comes with low range, otherwise it is 2wd rear diff lock hooning.

So really I just need to suck it up and use low? If that's the case you saved me a lot of pennies I can put towards a bumper and winch

Dafuq? My 4.56s and autos scream up the hills just fine. But have learned to use my auto tranny manually instead of letting screw things up.

I will say it was a joy to drive today. I only tested the SC twice. ;)
