    This. Perhaps you could upgrade your water pump, because I don't think you'll be able to do much with the radiator.

    Actually, you'd be surprised about that. A time ago I was doing 160 t-star mods for people. Ended up that it stayed so cool that it wouldn't let the engine get past 168* and would then throw a CEL. Also proved rather useful for the resident redline abusing drift racer. :thumbsup:

    Truth be told, it needs both. I just don't feel like the cost of a new Ron Davis radiator right now. $17 will do quite well enough for now.

    I recently removed my massive Ron Davis radiator, which sprung a leak due to a head gasket failure. There are no "upgraded" water pumps. The radiator however is upgradable. Albeit custom-ish. It is 3" thick and a double pass.

    There are no commercially available upgraded water pumps, doesn't mean you can't hack one to work :) That sounds like a badass radiator though, where's it leaking from?

    one would think that upgrading the water pump would just push the coolant around the system faster, meaning it spends less time in the radiator cooling down, right?

    The only upgrade in a water pump that I can foresee, is one which is designed to handle higher RPM's without causing cavitation. No one knows the cavitation RPM of the OEM pump, and no one makes one to abate that problem.

    So then the only other improvement would be one with is of a better build quality. Except that the OEM pump is of top notch quality already.

    Mark, any recommendations for a new clutch? I'm assuming I can resurface my OEM flywheel as it's never been touched, so I just need a clutch. Figure when the transfer case comes out I might as well do the clutch.

    URD looks to be the cheapest out of that bunch, but lower on your list. Any reason to believe that their stage 2 clutch won't hold up to my rig? My stock setup is still going strong at 100k with a lot of offroad miles.

    Your crawl box should help cut the amount of clutch slippage necessary though won't it?

    I love my URD stage 3 clutch and lightweight flywheel. For non boosted I think I'd go stage 2 with normal flywheel. Im tempted to return to a heavier flywheel just because 1st is a bitch to get going in sometimes, but the acceleration is noticeable over the stock flywheel and I like it :)

    Correct. I don't see me slipping the clutch with the crawl box in. With the amount of $$$ going out right now I'm leaning towards leaving my stock setup in place for the time being. I've never had a slip that I didn't cause.

    Are you talking about offroading in 4L? I needed almost no slipping. Sitting on a hill, with no gas, I can almost drop the clutch in 1st and 4Lo and it will start crawling lol
