I would think that Reimer is tired of being a backup. Unless they win a cup or he falls in love with Jumbo Joe I don't think he'll be there next season unless they are willing to play him more than 30 games.

New member, excited to see there's an active hockey thread...I've been playing in goal most of my life and am a huge Kings fan (since well before 2012, before anyone says anything lol). I'll be checking in here often :canada:

Yessir, can't wait. Especially after we missed last year's playoffs...still trying to forget that. Hoping we can reclaim the number one spot in the Pacific before that happens, but the Ducks have been on fire lately...

Hey I can't hate on SJ too much, I was a huge fan of Jones when he was here. Him and Quick were the best goalie duo we've had IMO. He's definitely starter material though so I'm glad to see he's doing well, buuuut come playoffs I can't say I'll be cheering for him

It's mind boggling to think that the caps have only lost 14 games in regulation up to this point this season. Their goal differential is over 60+ and they've only lost 4 times in regulation in the east too.

Unless the Caps take their typical dump in the playoffs they are going to be hard to beat.

Seriously, with the likes of Ovie, Backstrom, Kuznetsov, Oshie, Holtby, etc....that's some real firepower right there.

Looking forward to tomorrow's Kings game versus them but I'm equally nervous

Yeah, they won't be the first 120 point team knocked out early if that happens. Then again I think the best matchup for them would be any of the cusp teams right now other than the Wings. Pittsburgh, Philly, and Ottawa would likely just be minor speed bumps for the Caps, maybe 5 games for those matchups, but the Wings seem to get to even the best teams in the playoffs.

For the life of me I can't figure out why Ovie is ALWAYS left alone in the left offensive zone circle on the PP, every time...

I get that you're supposed to box out the slot on the penalty kill, but against the Caps I'd say tell your best d-man to stay on Ovie like a goddamn shadow. Guy is deadly.

He's not usually left alone. Watch the play back 30 seconds next time. He's a master at creating his space and anticipating the box. You'll watch the D shift to cover a pass and, in the 1-2 seconds where someone isn't humping Ovie's leg, he's free and clear with the puck on his stick. Then his shot is lightning fast and he doesn't even need to setup to be deadly accurate. What a combo. Unless you went man on man hybrid PK, which is a disaster in high level hockey trust me, there's no way to counter his ability to read the setup and anticipate space other than to tighten up... which just gives the highly talented D-core the opportunity to bombard the net and the other players the opportunity to collect the garbage goal rebounds.

True...he's a great skater and knows how to make his own space, especially on the power play. Kings have been taking way too many penalties in games as of late, so I'm a little wary of how tomorrow is going to go against the Caps. Hopefully Quick eats his Wheaties tomorrow morning...

I don't even see that as our best attribute this year. I believe its the ability to roll 4 lines and not being able to tell which is the least effective line? I truly hope we don't shit the bed come playoff time but we shall see. I do think this is our best chance to date and don't believe that horse shit about cup or bust this year.

Lol, Nurse waited for him at the bench and yet he only draws an extra 2 minutes for roughing on the play. Not only that but he was throwing punches before Polak even had his gloves off and you can literally see Nurse collar Polak then start feeding him shots the change is happening. All of this in the last two minutes of a game that means nothing.

And some silly people wonder why fighting is going to get removed from the game. It's fights like that which will be replayed to the public to drum up support from non fans against the NHL that will end fighting in the league, which is sad.

Polak never got his gloves off and somehow got a fighting major. Should have been a 7 min powerplay for the sharks, not that it matters with less than 2 left. That was textbook instigating in the last 5 minutes, Nurse should get at least a 1 game suspension.

Why did San Jose initiate a change then lol. Count the players. Polak was going off the ice, or at least that's how it looked to the coaching staff and players 10 feet from him.

Correct. Actually to be honest I would of went with a match there. Nurse had intent to injure. That wasn't a hockey fight. That was a release of anger on an unprepared player.
