The previous owner of my rig put one of the rear headrests in backwards. I noticed when I went to put that seat down flat and couldn't get the headrest out. I tried with all my might to pull that sumbitch out but I fear it's in there for good.

Is there a way to yank that out without tearing the seat apart? I'm not seeing one.

    It can be pulled out.

My fiancée put mine in backwards once or twice.

Ain't nothing wrong with going in "backwards", it'll come out, you just have to pull a little harder.

Huh, good to know. I'll have to crank on it some more. Just seemed pretty tight in there. We're talking about headrests right?

    Yes.

    I think..

But seriously. It will come out, you just have to be strong handed. If you can't get it, have someone else lend a hand.

    It will come out.

Some of them are a little trickier than others so OP I get where you're coming from. When they'r put in properly, with my 06 you could pop out the rear headrests just with the pressure of one finger very lightly lifting it up. With my 2013 I have to really work on it to get them out and its a matter of getting down below it with my back on the seat for leverage and pushing up with just about everything I've got. It rocks its way up bit by bit then just flys out of there and almost through the roof. It's a pain in the ass. I've thrown some lithium grease on and its done nothing to help. I'm worried I'm going to pull part of the seat right out through the fabric one of these times.

Look on the inside of the plastic housing where the headrest goes into the seat. There is a little rectangle hole. Stick a small screw driver in that hole and it will allow you to lift the headrest up without breaking anything.

Crisis averted. It came out fine once I got in there and gave it the onion. Helped to move the seat forward a little. Thanks for the help.

    WD-40 destroys some plastics.

I wouldn't suggest anybody spray it in their interior.
