What are some things you've had on your previous trucks that your 3rd gen doesn't have, and you wish Toyota had included?

    - Pimp Cane e-brake: That was a classic all the way back to my 1st gen pickups.

    - 4hi/lo shift stick: I just miss the aesthetics and sure-fire operation of a shift stick. I dont trust electronics to not eventually fail (would be interested in a mod on this)

    - cab bed rail: I'm mad Toyota didn't bundle this with the truck. Now it's a third tie down rail we have to buy separately because they assumed most people would be interested in a tonneau cover instead and would never use the rear rail... Money... Tie downs are important Toyota!

An arm rest high enough to actually rest your arm on and hold the steering wheel. I second the windshield piller handle. I'd rather have normal wheel bearing and front hub locks with a manual transfer case handle. How about a 2wd diff lock the old prerunners had it.
I am really happy with the 2016 if all the electrics work for ever.

Pop-n-lock tailgate. New radio knobs. Rear step.
Driver's side oh-shit handle as mentioned. USB port in center console or glovebox. I miss manual hubs too.

As soon as electronics start to fail, I'm switching out with something manual to serve its function.

Same with any body damage, if I can I'll just replace with steel bumpers front/rear and wider fenders. Large dents are another story

Agreed, I was going to say manual hubs but wasn't sure if I would get the
"manual hubs are a pain, why would you want those that's stupid"
opinion from everyone. But yes, manual hubs would be sick!

Personally I can do without the oh shit handle drivers side although I wonder if there are the thread inserts in the pillar to attach aftermarket? Just a thought

USB port in the glovebox should be a must! Where they put it on the dash is such a pain... Having anything plugged into it gets in the way of shifting.

    2016 MGM 4x4 Limited, 2001 Black 4x4 SR5 Doublecab
NRA Life Member Sticker, Body Armor 4x4 Step Rail, Leer Trilogy Bed Cover
Locking center console, heck my 1979 Jeep CJ-7 had this.
4wd stick shift instead of the silly dial.
Power seats and power rear window like my 4Runner.
Not that my previous trucks had them but I really really wanted Adaptive cruise control.

Black or grey leather in the limited...the brown just doesn't go with most of the exterior colors!

It's BROWN interior?? So what... A designer at Toyota quit, and before doing so he took a giant shit inside the thing and they called it good? Geez.... Sorry but this just makes me so glad I didn't go for the limited

I forgot... Solid axle would be sweet... Definitely wishful thinking however.

Anyone wanting to do SAS on their 3rd gen?
