Typical. As soon as I get up, one of my dogs will always take my spot. The GSP is the biggest offender.

    Hi...
I'm Chloe. I'm a 2 year old female "field Lab", and still at kennel getting my retriever training. I'm a retrieving machine and work the birds well. Duck, Pheasant, Quail, Dove. Excellent nose and soft mouth...
Oh...I'm rocket fast...still need to work on my steady at the line, and my "Blind" retrieve.
But, there will be blue ribbons pinned to my kennel someday soon!!!

SO many adorable and awesome puppies!! Question for you all - Those of you who transport puppy via the bed instead of the cab, what have you been doing to keep them safe and comfortable for the ride?

I don't want to get a topper, so currently I've used his crate secured into the bed with a BBQ cover over top to keep the snow and rain off with a window cut into it. Anyone use any other methods and have you gone for long drives on the highway with your dogs back there?

So far we've only driven to our local hiking trail, which is about a 20 minute drive with top driven speeds of only 65km/h.

Yep. That's my GSP, to a tee. I guess they just figure it's the best spot if you had it.

Growing up my family had a variety of dogs from Dachshunds, to mutts, to Rottweilers. This guy is my first Shepherd and I will definitely get another one after he's gone (hopefully not for many more years). I rescued him as a puppy from basically a white trash junk house at 6 weeks old which is way too young but I couldn't leave him there. I had him fully house broken at 8 - 9 weeks of age. Smartest dog I've ever had.

I have had Shepherds for over 45 years in my life. Never has my home been broken into, and they will protect you with their very own life. Train them, love them, best dog ever.
