I ordered my TRD OR M/T Feb 17, and Toyota has still not accepted my order from the dealership.
So now i'm re-thinking the order as I sold my car last week and am now w/o a car and dont want to wait ~4 months for my truck.

Anyone in the Austin,TX area that wants to take me for a spin in their M/T 2016 v6 to keep my fire alive?
It's slowly dwindling and it may have to get an A/T. Please help, i'll buy you a beer.

Toyota inventory shows two TRD Off Road w/MT in Oklahoma, maybe do a search then find the dealer that has it road trip.

    My 2.7 is a manual 5 speed.
I love my truck don't get me wrong here. Could use another gear for interstate driving and mpg. I do better on secondary roads, so that's what I use mostly.
Not a lot of stops or traffic on my commute so I'm loving it.
But if I had to do a lot of stop and go race from light to light crap,
I'm not so sure I'd have gone with my current set up. I'm good with it but it is in no way fast.
Didn't want fast anyway I knew what I was getting.
    Aside from our frames.

True. The truck can control each individual wheel's brake, whereas humans only have one brake pedal for all four wheels. Still, I guess its the purest in me that would much rather make those decisions than give it over to a computer. I have never heard a Land Rover do crawl control, but the Tacoma sounds like creeps, pops, bangs and farts. Uh, no thanks.

I suppose what I wanted to know is do you find yourself using 4th 5th or 6th often in the city.I have driven standards for 50 years but was just wondering about the ratios in the 6 mt. I have a 2010 AC AT and was wondering. Initially I really disliked the AT and it took quite some pestering to get my dealer to re flash. The many comments about the new 6 AT are not reassuring.

I don't find myself in 6th at all unless I'm cruising above 60-65 on the highway. In the city I'm typically capping in 4th, but will sometimes move into 5th for longer stretches above 40. Exactly as forty2 says, depends on the situation (and probably the traffic patterns in your particular city).

I'll go to 6th at as low as 50 or so, but only on a flat or downhill where I'm not anticipating much change in momentum.

I am in the same boat. I live in the panhandle of Florida, and I have "secured" a truck with a dealer this past week. They told me it would be here in April sometime. I am trying to stay strong, but being down to only one car in my family is getting tough with our conflicting schedules. Trying to stay strong, but it is getting tougher everyday.

Stay strong fellas, don't give into an AT or any other vehicle for that matter. Take public transportation or drive your girlfriend's car if you need to get around. Tacoma MT is worth the 2-4 month wait. Seriously best truck ever.

Damn!! I had to sell the motorcycle and my truck to make room for the new taco. Well not really for the truck, but because It looks like I will have a new addition to the family coming this fall. The MT and a new truck are the only toys I will have left. Trying to save up on that momma don't know money for mod's lol.

Don't give up, hang in there. Took me months to find a used Tacoma with a manual transmission and a reasonable price, I didn't look every day and I had another car (MT). It's worth the wait.

Mine will definitely hold on a hill briefly, but when I start to drive, and if I stop again, then it will roll back. Somebody should check the manual, see if this is actually a real thing lol
